Eldon Landin, who served as manager of the Douglas County Public Utility District for the past 10 years, announced he will retired on July 31. Landin joined the district as special billing clerk in 1956.
Panlabs, based in Bothell and Taipei, a contract research provider in the fields of drug discovery, pharmacological testing and process improvement, announced it has created a new biosafety services division. The division, headed by Alexander F. Sito, Ph.D., will conduct cell line characterization, viral validation and bioanalytical testing.
Seattle-based McCann-Erickson has promoted Rachel Jones from assistant account executive to account executive, Laura Hicks from account coordinator to business coordinator, and has hired Cecilia Nguyen-Eldridge as production accountant. Nguyen-Eldridge was previously a receiver at Waldenbooks.
Clover Park Technical College in Lakewood will receive approximately $270,000 in donated computer software from Microsoft. The contribution is the college's portion of nearly $10 million in software products and technical support Microsoft donated recently to the state's 32 community and technical colleges.
Subert-Gregory, an advertising, public relations and marketing firm located on Mercer Island, won seven awards at the 1995 Washington Press Association's awards banquet and third place in the overall "Sweepstakes." Awarded are: Susan Black and Associates, architecture and engineering category; Lin and Associates, architecture and engineering category; Seattle Super Smoke, concessions category; Wespac Inc., construction category; Wright Inc., construction category; Eldridge & Company, consultant category; Washington Transit Advertising, consultant category; Andover Printing, purchasing/service category; and Evergreen Computer Products, purchasing/service category.

The Board of Directors of Kirkland-based Henry Cogswell College, a school specializing in engineering, engineering computer and computer sciences for working adults students, has authorized the relocation of the College's main campus and administrative offices in Downtown Everett, effective August 15.

Laura Oberto, chief operational officer of Kent, Wa. and Albany, Ore. based Oh Boy! Oberto Sausage Company, a snack food company, has been named 1996 Executive of the Year by Snack Food Magazine. In 1994, the family-owned company acquired the Smoke Craft and Lowrey's meat snack brands. It employs nearly 500 people.
