Rich Winkler has been named general manager of Harborside, McCormick & Schmick's newest restaurant set to open May 6 in the AGC Building on Lake Union. Winkler most recently held the position of operations manager at McCormick's Fish House in Denver. Prior to that he was Rock Bottom Brewery in Boulder, Colorado. Katy Mathews has also joined the staff in the catering sales department.
Reno Air extended its route system northward in April with the start-up of Anchorage to Fairbanks service. Flights to Anchorage are from Seattle. Fairbanks is the 17th city on Reno Air's route system.

Seattle-based Continental Savings Bank, operating eight savings bank branches in Western Washington and Oregon, has promoted Laurel E. Archey from savings administration manager to assistant vice president and manager of savings administration; Paulette B. Mortenson from supervisor of the customer section of loan servicing to assistant vice president and supervisor of the customer service section of loan servicing; and, Vicky G. Webb from manager to assistant vice president and manager of the downtown Seattle savings bank.
The Pacific Institute in Seattle, an international educational organization, has hired Melissa M. Leuckel as communications director and Lisa K. Thompson as special events and publicity director. Most recently, they both worked for KIRO Television where Leuckel was a community relations manager and Thompson was promotion director.
John White has joined Legi-Tech, a Sacramento, Calif.-based provider of online legislative databases for Washington, California, Florida, and New York, as news manager. White, a 23-year Associated Press bureau chief in Olympia, retired at year-end 1995. He covered seven gubernatorial campaigns and every Washington legislative session since 1971 for the Associated Press bureau of Olympia.
Seattle-based VFX Advertising Inc. has moved to a new location at 1201 1st Avenue South, Suite 317, and has added two employees. Shannon Perry has been hired as copywriter and Beth Grove is the new production assistant.
Graphic Associates of Bellevue, providing marketing communications, has added Gerard Nedich to its team of designers. Nedich comes from the College of the Redwoods in Eureka, Calif., where he was a multimedia designer.
The Washington State Convention & Trade Center (WSTC) will hold a public open house for individuals interested in the proposed expansion project. The open house will be held in Room 403 of the center on April 24, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) was released on April 12 and this is the first opportunity for interested individuals to take a closer look at the proposed model. Preliminary designs of the expansion alternatives will be presented for public review. Representatives from the center staff, architects and members of the design team will also be available to answer questions.
