Hornall Anderson Design Works (HADW) has created the identity for Pacific Place-a new, innovative, urban, retail and entertainment center under construction in downtown Seattle. A large curved skylight in the central atrium of the new five story development is the inspiration for the logo design. The integration of the sun's rays in the arch suggest the concept of "bringing the outdoors in." The overall effect of the logo is one of light and energy, which emphasizes an active retail environment. Currently, the Pacific Place logo has been applied to the development's preliminary newsletter, mailing envelope and presentation folder. HADW has also been awarded work with Best Cellars, a wine retailer soon to be opening its first store in Manhattan. HADW will be creating a series of materials for Best Cellars, including an identity, collateral material and environmental graphics for its flagship store.
