Health Care Policy Board

Sue Crystal has been appointed as chairwoman of the five-member state Health Care Policy Board, effective September 4th. David Endicott has also been elected to serve on the board. His term will begin October 1st. Crystal most recently served as the governor's special assistant and policy advisor on health care issues and as executive director of the Governor's Task Force on Higher Education. Endicott currently serves as vice president for corporate communications and public affairs of First Choice Health Network, Inc. in Seattle. The Health Care Policy Board was created by the 1995 Legislature to make recommendations on health care issues, to review state agency rules for consistency with the goals of health care reform and to complete needed studies. The board is responsible for helping the state build broad access to health coverage while controlling costs and maintaining or improving the quality of health care services.

MorseMcFadden Communications, Inc. has hired Lisa Geschke and Rod Anderson as account managers. Geschke previously worked as an account executive at ParaTechnology Inc. The Everett Clinic

The Everett Clinic has earned its national accreditation by the Medical Quality Commission (MQC). The clinic is the first physician group practice in Washington State to earn the accreditation. The Medical Quality Commission is a non-profit organization dedicated to excellence in medical care and patient services. The Commission administers the nation's only medical group accreditation program that includes prepaid criteria, awarding accreditation to medical groups who attain extremely high professional standards.

The Chronology Corporation has appointed David Evans to the positions of president and CEO. With more than 15 years experience in electronic design automation (EDA), Evans is a founder of a successful EDA start-up company and a former Cadence and Hewlett-Packard executive. Graham & James LLP/Riddell Williams PS

Kathleen Hopkins, a senior associate with the law firm of Graham & James LLP/Riddell Williams PS, has been elected president-elect of the Washington State Bar Association Young Lawyers Division. Hopkins will serve as president-elect until August, 1997 when she will become president of the Young Lawyers Division. The Young Lawyers Division of the Washington State Bar Association is comprised of 5932 attorneys throughout the state, who focus on public service projects and participate in legal education programs.

SuperMall of the Great Northwest

Leann Hopwood has been named general manager of SuperMall of the Great Northwest. Hopwood will direct and supervise all aspects of the mall, including operations, marketing, leasing and personnel. SuperMall of the Great Northwest is located midway between Seattle and Tacoma, at the major freeway interchange of State Highways 167 and 18.

The Westin Hotel

Meetings & Conventions magazine has named The Westin Hotel, Seattle winner of the 1996 Gold Key award. The award recognizes the top domestic and international hotels and resorts providing the finest service and quality in the meetings industry. Winners will be announced in a special Meetings & Conventions supplement this November. The 1996 Gold Key winners will be honored by Meetings & Conventions magazine and industry peers at a Gold Award Gala on November 10, at the Sheraton New York in New York City.

Sandusky Radio

Sandusly Radio has named Joe Costello as sales manager of smooth jazz KWJZ-FM (98.9) and business talk radio KEZX-FM (1150). Costello is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day sales operations of both stations. Previously Costello served as the general sales manager of KYCW-FM (96.5) in Seattle. Sandusky Radio is based in San Francisco and owns and operates stations in Dallas, Phoenix and Seattle.
