Debby Kennedy, managing director of the Cole & Weber Portland office, is moving to the agency's Seattle headquarters and will become president of the firm, overseeing both offices. Agency CEO Austin McGhie is now chairman. Brian Ribbey has been promoted to general manager of the integrated marketing group. The changes will give McGhie more time to devote to strategic planning with clients and also allow him to lead the agency's new business development program. Kennedy will oversee account management, planning, media and creative functions. She was director of tourism for the Oregon Economic Development Dept. before joining Cole & Weber.
Dave Dailey was named interim director for the Bates Business and Management Training Center. The center in downtown Tacoma provides consulting, corporate training, small business development, start-up services and trade expertise to more than 1,000 Puget Sound area businesses. Dailey has been with the college since 1986.
Peter Neal, former head chef of Nordstrom Catering, has started CaterArts Inc. The Seattle-based firm will specialize in off-premise catering for up to 3,000 people and will be the caterer for the Tyee Yacht Club on north Lake Union. Lisa Crolius, former director of sales for the Hotel Vintage Park, is the new marketing manager and Carol Riddle is the salesperson.
Holland America Line-Westours Inc. has appointed Peter Davis to the position of product manger for its Caribbean and New England/Eastern Canada cruises. Davis will oversee promotions for Holland America Line's year-round Caribbean sailings and late summer cruises along the East Coast. Holland America Line-Westours is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Carnival Corp.
West Coast Paper Company, Seattle, has hired Bob Owsley as sales manager of industrial packaging products. Owsley will manage industrial packaging sales, which includes the 11-member packaging sales force, expanding product offering, and assisting with territory planning and sales calls. West Coast Paper Company's industrial packaging unit distributes shipping and packaging supplies and equipment, as well as computer and office supplies to retail stores, mailing houses, schools and businesses.

Olympus Lock Inc., manufacturers and distributors of rekeyable small/large pin cabinet lock, interchangeable core cabinet lock and solid brass padlocks, has moved its offices. The new headquarters will be located at 2720 NE 115th St., Seattle, allowing the company to carry significantly larger inventories.
The Sorrento Hotel has added three new members to its management team. David Wightman has joined as director of Food & Beverage, Ron Remmer has been appointed as Sorrento's director of Housekeeping and Ellen Marks has joined the company as front office manager. Located in Seattle, the Sorrento Hotel is a member of Preferred Hotels & Resorts Worldwide and Small Luxury Hotels of the World.
Northwest Research Group, Inc., a Seattle-based full-service market research and marketing firm with offices in Chicago, has added Jeff Etherton to its moderating staff. Currently, Jeff is the qualitative research manager with the company and will retain his position in addition to moderating focus group projects.
