The Seattle advertising agency of Herring/Newman has hired Marc Ducnuigeen as an account supervisor responsible for the agency's Chicago-based Ameritech account. Herring/Newman is responsible for campaigns that brand the Ameritech Complete Card, a credit card that has a cash back feature for both purchased and Ameritech calling card calls.
Dan Dierdorff has joined the Investment Consulting Division of Kibble & Prentice as an account executive. Kibble & Prentice is a financial services firm located in Seattle.
King County Metro Transit is accepting applications for its Accessible Services Advisory Committee. The committee provides suggestions and recommendations to Metro Transit on accessible transit services for the elderly and people with disabilities. The committee monitors and evaluates transit services and offers advice to the director of the King County Department of Transportation and the King County Executive. Sally Williams, convention services manager for the Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers, has earned the designation of Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) from the Convention Liaison Council. The CMP program is designed to recognize high standards of proficiency in meeting planning, increase professionalism of meeting managers and raise industry standards.
Bothell-based Worthington Insurance awarded Sandi Browne Employee of the Year for her outstanding performance, productivity and dedicated service in 1996. Also, Jason Kunz has joined Worthington as producer for Personal Lines Insurance.
Eugene Partridge has been named regional medical director at Pacific Medical Clinics (PMC). Partridge will be responsible for providing the administrative medical leadership at the PMC clinics in the south region, including PMC-Renton and the undeveloped site in Auburn.
Everett-based Intermec Corporation, supplier of automated data collection systems for logistics automation in the manufacturing and government markets, announced the formation of a new government systems group, Intermec Government Division. The goal of the division is to supply federal, state and local government customers with complete solutions to their automatic identification (Auto ID) needs. The new group will have sales and internal resources dedicated to expanding and supporting the government market. Steven Winter will serve as vice president of the group and will be responsible for sales, marketing and systems integration.
Portland-based Babler Brothers, Inc. has promoted seven executives into new key executive positions. Michael Canton, president of PIPE, Inc. -- Oregon and its subsidiary PIPE, Inc. of Washington. Mark Wagy, vice president of sales and marketing for all of Oregon and Washington PIPE operations. Christopher Babler, president of Premier Concrete Railroad Crossings. Other members of the Premier leadership team include Douglas Wanner, executive vice president; Byron Nelson, director of sales; and Patricia McCulla, director of operations. Gerald Markel is the new corporate manager of human resources for Babler.
The Seattle Police Department has opened a new Neighborhood Office located within the Bon Marche at the corner of Third Avenue and Stewart Street. The office has been designed to provide police officers a place within their assigned beat to perform duties that would otherwise require them to leave the area and return to the West Precinct located at 610 3rd Avenue.
The Harmon AutoGlass stores in Seattle and Edmonds combined have received four 1996 "Awards of Excellence" from the Auto Glass Group (AGG) of Apogee Enterprises, Inc. Both store received a "Winners Circle Award" for outstanding overall performance in AGG's West Region. The Edmonds store was named "Most Improved Shop" in the region and Edmonds customer service representative Carolyn Emery was selected as "CSR of the Year".
