Jeffrey Bailet has been named medical director of surgical specialties at Pacific Medical Clinics (PMC). Bailet, an otolaryngologist, will work out of the new PMC-1101 Madison clinic which will open in May. Shoba Krishnamurthy has expanded her gastroenterology medical practice to the Renton PMC clinic and will soon move to the Madison clinic.
Scot Johnston and Anthony Gaspich have been named as members of the Seattle law firm of Bogle & Gates P.L.L.C. Johnston specializes in financial and commercial transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, aircraft matters and complex financings. Gaspich practices in admiralty and maritime law, litigation and personal injury.
Sunrise Assisted Living has named Kenneth Jaeger as executive director of Sunrise Orchard in Denver. Jaeger will oversee the daily and long term functioning of the home. Vera Taylor has been named director of sales and marketing for Sunrise's western division. She will oversee all sales and marketing activities for the region extending from Chicago to California. Based in Redmond Sunrise Assisted Living provides assisted living facilities for seniors across the United States.
U.S. Bank has named Laura Byers vice president and manager of its Smokey Point branch. Byers will oversee the sales and service staff of the branch.
Seattle-based MathSoft, Inc., a provider of knowledge discovery software for students and technical professionals, has introduced new statistical mining products and announced a new strategic partnership with Informix, a Menlo Park, Calif. provider of database technology. MathSoft products include Mathcad, StudyWorks, S-PLUS and Axum software.

The Association of Washington Business (AWB) is accepting nominations for the Better Workplace Awards. The Awards have been established to recognize companies that are innovative in creating a better workplace for its employees. The categories for the awards are: Job Training/Advancement Programs; Effective Workplace Safety Programs; and Innovative Benefit/Compensation Programs.
