Boeing

The Boeing Company has named Don Darwin as the new Defense & Space Group vice president of Information Systems.

Ultima Systems

Ultima Systems, a Bothell-based membership-only travel service, has added three new managers to its company. Pamela Raphael joins as the member services manager and will supervise the staff that handles all non-travel oriented member inquiries; Tom Keehn will develop member travel packages for Ultima Systems' Product Development department; and Ann Bensel will act as the new agency manager.

Chicken Soup Brigade

Chicken Soup Brigade is hosting an open house on May 20, offering information about current volunteer opportunities. The open house will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at 1161 11th Ave. on Capitol Hill. Boys & Girls Club/Spot Bagel Bakery

Seattle-based Spot Bagel Bakery has introduced a new line of bagels called the St. Helens Bagel Company to Quality Food Centers (QFC), Stock Markets, Larry's Markets, Thriftways and other independent grocers throughout Western Washington. For every package of St. Helens Bagels sold at QFC stores during May and June, Spot Bagel Bakery will donate 20 cents to the Boys and Girls Clubs of King County.

Modern Digital Post and Graphics

Modern Digital, a film and video post-production facility, has acquired Digital Post and Graphics, a post-production house specializing in visual effects, computer animation and multi-media development. The new company will be based in Seattle and assume the name of Modern Digital Post and Graphics. Owners of the company are president Richard Fassio and vice president David Fassio.

Crowley Petroleum Transport

Rockwell Smith has been named vice president of Crowley Petroleum Transport, Inc., a Crowley Maritime Corporation affiliate formed recently to operate tankers in the U.S. West tanker trades. Smith will be based in Seattle while the acquisition of the tankers S.S. Blue Ridge and S.S. Coast Range is finalized and the new affiliate initiates service. Crowley Maritime is headquartered in Oakland, Calif. Its Crowley Marine Services division is based in Seattle.

Used computer 'Roundup' for schools

Seattle Public Schools is inviting parents, corporations and all members of the community to donate used computer equipment to the "Great Computer Roundup for Education," from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on May 31 at the Seattle Center. Seattle schools will get credit based on the resale value of donated equipment toward the purchase of new technology. The Computer Roundup is jointly sponsored by the Alliance for Education, Microsoft, KING 5, Compaq and GE Capital. For more information about the event, call (800) 992-6449.

Lee Hecht Harrison

The Seattle/Bellevue office of Lee Hecht Harrison has promoted Rolf Gruen to senior vice president and general manager. He will direct the development of marketing and sales plans, as well as be responsible for operations and service delivery to all sponsor organizations and clients.
