Michael Weeks has been appointed executive chef at McCormick & Schmick's Seafood Restaurant in downtown Seattle.
Peggy Sarjeant has joined Virginia Mason Sand Point Pediatrics. Sarjeant specializes in adolescent medicine.
The National Association of Purchasing Management of Western Washington (NAPM-WW) honored the following winners at its annual awards banquet: Cal Barnard, T.C.I. Materials Management, Inc., was given the George A. Hawley Award; Bill Walker, city of Renton, and Pam Hogan, Progressive Networks, both received the Louis A. Menconi Award; and Terry Graham the Larry J. Crozier Award. NAPM-WW also announced its new officers for 1997-98: Yvette LaValle, AT & T Wireless, director of national affairs; Bruce Fitzgerald, T.C.I. Materials Management, Inc., president; Reissa Davis, ELDEC Corporation, first vice president; Theresa Dodge, AT & T Wireless, second vice president; Jim Miller, Northshore Utility District, secretary/treasurer. Wayne Balsiger, PACCAR; Terrie Laird, Microsoft; and Terry Rea have joined the association's board of directors for 1997-2000.
The Association of Women in Communications Seattle Chapter installed a new board of directors which will serve for the next year. Vanessa Gallant, director of marketing for the Seattle Design Center, is the chapter president. President-elect is Jeannine Blue Lupton of the U.S. Labor Department. New vice presidents are: Joy Dadoun, Carol Simpson, Teri Attebury, Julie Gangler, Laura Miller, Celestine Davis, Elizabeth Dietz and Francina Noordhoek.
McCann/Erickson/Seattle won three Halo Awards which honor the best pro bono advertising in Western Washington. It won the Grand Halo "Best of Show" for a TV spot for the Washington Council on Problem Gambling, a Gold Halo for the "Best TV Commercial" for the same spot and a Gold Halo for a campaign it did for the Puget Sound Blood Center.
Questions.net, a new online marketing survey facility based in Seattle and owned by E-valuations Research, has hired Norman Brown as director of business development and Myshel Frenz as marketing specialist. Questions.net offers a broad, representative research sample on the Internet. The composition of the online audience appeals to companies selling leading edge products and services. Brown will focus on that sector.

Ward Cook Inc., a full service commercial mortgage banking company headquartered in Portland, owned by U.S. Bancorp, has named Robert Rygg as vice president of its newly opened Seattle office. Rygg will be responsible for placing apartment and commercial real estate loans with life insurance companies and mortgage conduits represented by Ward Cook Inc.
Jared Smith, a senior principal engineer with the Seattle office of Parsons Brinckerhoff, has been selected by the American Public Works Association (APWA) to receive the 1997 Private Sector Service Award (Individual). This national award recognizes the outstanding achievements of private sector individuals in the provision of public facilities and services.
Washington State Bank hired Dennis Jaraczeski as assistant vice president, lending officer, and promoted Erin Mobley to operations officer. Jaraczeski will focus on the acquisitions of business loans and will work out of the main office in Federal Way. Mobley will be in charge of day-to-day operations.
Bellevue-based Data West has been selected from a field of 80 nominees and 11 finalists as the Emerging Business of the Year by the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. In 1994, Data West created Courtlink, an on-line, real-time service providing access to over 400 federal, state and local court records nationwide. The Corporate Council for the Arts (CCA) announced that Barry and Ginger Ackerley donated $1 million as a personal gift to CCA. The Ackerley donation nearly doubles the organization's endowment funds.
Redmond-based NeoPath, Inc. has named William Scott vice president and chief financial officer. Scott also joined the Company's board of directors. NeoPath designs products to improve diagnostic accuracy, and is the maker of the AutoPap System.
La' Chris Jordan has joined Wilmer Communications Group, Seattle, as administrative assistant. Wilmer Communications Group provides comprehensive marketing services to the hospitality industry.
ConnexT, a Seattle-based provider of software products and services for electric, gas and water utilities has appointed Pamela Lesh as head of the company's Strategic Relationships team.

Michael Romoser has joined Seattle magazine as publisher and general manager. Romoser most recently was the publisher of three international editions of Export magazine, based in Chicago. Seattle is published by Adams Publishing of the Pacific Northwest.
