Systems Interface

Terry Huss has joined Systems Interface Inc. of Bothell as a sales engineer. He will be responsible for the sale and marketing of industrial control and variable speed drive systems to Boeing. He was formerly with Lockheed-Martin's Astronautics Division.

Booth Creek

Tim Beck has been named executive vice president in charge of resort planning for Booth Creek Ski Holdings. The Truckee, Calif.-based company owns 10 resorts across the U.S. including the four Snoqualmie Pass ski areas. Beck is based in Vermont and will be responsible for helping to guide strategic planning for Booth Creek's resorts.

Stanislaw Ashbaugh

Robert Majerus has been named a partner in the Seattle law firm of Stanislaw Ashbaugh. Majerus has been with the firm since 1993 and practices construction litigation and employment law.

Children's Museum

Dr. Morteza Sajadian has resigned as executive director of the Children's Museum to return to the East Coast and his family. He has been with the museum for two years, during the transition into the new expanded facility. Former Board of Trustees president Cynthia Captain will be interim executive director while the board evaluates the museum's needs and conducts an executive search.

Hornall Anderson

Margaret Atwater has been added to the marketing team at Hornall Anderson Design Works. She is in charge of new client development and maintaining client relationships. She was formerly with GNA Corporation.

Parallel Communications

Todd Mattson has joined Parallel Communications as chief executive officer, replacing Joe Verschueren, who remains an owner in Parallel but is leaving his position as CEO to work with ImageX. The company also announced that John Jerome, a founding partner of the company, is leaving the agency to pursue other interests. Mattson has worked with a number of west coast marketing and communications firms.

TCI Media

TCI Media Services (Puget Sound) has added to its accounting staff in the Seattle office. Accountant Pam Wilson has moved from the Bellevue office. Heidi Ryan has joined the firm as advertising administrator and Shane Minden is an accounts payable coordinator. Engineer Jim Goodge has moved to the Seattle office to install and maintain digital computer equipment.

Wizards of the Coast

Wizards of the Coast has acquired Bellevue-based Five Rings Publishing Group. Five Rings was founded in 1996 and is the creator and publisher of trading card games and a collectable dice game. Robert Abramowitz is the CEO of Five Rings. Renton-based Wizards has a variety of trading card and adventure board games including Magic: The Gathering. Its newest game is Corporate Shuffle, based on the Dilbert cartoon character.

Municipal League civic awards

The Municipal League today will honor eight local citizens and one organization with its annual civic awards. Citizen of the Year is George Corcoran, president of a management and organizational planning firm who has chaired numerous governing boards. Micki and Robert Flowers will also receive the Citizen of the Year award. Micki Flowers is a television reporter and Robert Flowers is a banker. Both have been involved in numerous civic activities. Mary McCumber of the Puget Sound Regional Council is the Public Official of the Year and David Towne of the Woodland Park Zoo is the Public Employee of the Year. Harborview Medical Center won the Business/Organization of the Year Award and Bob Drewel, chairman of the Central Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority Board, won the James R. Ellis Regional Leadership Award. Ken Griffey Jr. won the Doug Mason Memorial award for his work with children.

Excel Data

Excell Data Corporation has hired Melody Paul as territory manager and David Knight as account manager in the company's business development group. Excell Data provides information technology consulting and systems integration.

Pacific Northwest Bank

Pacific Northwest Bank will open the Kent Financial Center June 30. Pacific Northwest Bank purchased and refurbished a former Seafirst branch at 1140 West Meeker in Kent and will operate it under the direction of branch manager Clifford O. Ridgway, a longtime banker in the South King County area. Pacific Northwest Bank opened in 1988 and has offices in Seattle, Bellevue and Lynnwood.

Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt

Ann M. Lane recently joined the law firm of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt as an attorney in the Portland office. Her practice focuses on business law and estate planning.
