Acadio Corp., a Seattle-based online source for professionals seeking information, products and services related to continuing education, announced the appointment of two new vice presidents. Kristi Marchbanks is vice president of alliances and Anton Gielen is vice president of customer relations. Marchbanks comes to Acadio from Eastman Kodak. Gielen comes to Acadio from Cable Plus.
Tim Neville has joined Acordia Northwest, a Seattle-based insurance broker, as vice president and producer of the Employee Benefits department. Neville has 30 years of experience in the insurance industry and previously served as vice president of employee benefits in the Seattle offices of both Marsh and Sedgwick.
Potlatch Corp., a forest products company with timberland in Idaho, Arkansas and Minnesota, announced the election of Anna M. Haney as vice president of manufacturing in the corporation's Minnesota plant. Haney has been with Potlatch since 1984 and has served in a variety of engineering, planning and senior production positions.
BirthdayExpress.com, a Kirkland-based provider of party and event planning products and services, announced it has hired former Humongous Entertainment marketing executive Vicki Brummond as vice president of new business development. Brummond has more than 12 years management experience in the interactive software, entertainment, marketing and advertising industries.
Benson & McLaughlin, a full-service CPA firm servicing the Puget Sound region, announced the promotion of Cynthia Petrie to director and Lucy Huber and Joe Merrill to senior accountants. Chris Harper will join the firm as a tax manager on Dec. 16.

The Washington Restaurant Association has added Deba Wegner and Claudia Lett as area coordinators for King County. In their new positions, Wegner and Lett will serve Seattle and Eastside/Southside regions, respectively, as sales representatives and grassroots liaisons to the association's central office in Olympia.
Arnerich Massena & Associates, a Portland-based independent investment management firm, has hired Rick Meigs as chief operating officer. Meigs will be responsible for overall direction and coordination of operations, and will participate in setting short and long-term strategies and objectives for the company.
Ying Pei from the University of Washington will be joining Berntson Porter & Co. as a staff accountant. Mark Lucas and Sarah Funk from Washington State University will also be joining Berntson Porter & Co. this tax season as interns.
London Fog, designers and marketers of rainwear and outerwear with offices in Seattle, has promoted Bill Shields to vice president of global sourcing, Peter Smith to vice president and COO and appointed Marv Toland as executive vice president and CFO.
Shields has more than 26 years of production and sourcing experience in the outerwear industry and will assume overall responsibility for corporate sourcing. Smith has more than 15 years of operations experience in apparel and related industries and will oversee all corporate forecasting, order management, distribution and information systems. Toland has more than 15 years of corporate and financial management experience and will be responsible for all financial activities for the company.
