Three of the City of Seattle's Neighborhood Service Centers have added U.S. Passport application services to their repertoire.
The Ballard, Southwest and West Seattle Neighborhood Service Centers began processing passports this month. Passport services are already available at the Central, Lake City, Southeast and University Neighborhood Service Centers.

Acadio, a Seattle-based online destination for professionals seeking information, products and services related to continuing education, announced that Yasuki Matsumoto, president and chief executive officer of Trans Cosmos USA, which supplied Acadio with one third of its seed funding, has joined Acadio's board of directors. Matsumoto has more than 20 years of experience in the information technology industry.

The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded the Seattle Art Museum a $500,000 challenge grant to support the museum's school tours, curriculum materials, professional development activities, staff salaries and a new initiative exploring distance learning.

The Washington Public Ports Association elected new officers at its annual meeting. John Love, a commissioner at the Port of Whitman County is president. Bob Sokol, commissioner at the Port of Port Townsend is vice president. Bob Moser, Port of Vancouver commissioner, was elected secretary. Steve Simpson, executive director at the Port of Friday Harbor will serve as treasurer. Past presidents Jim Knapp and Jack Fabulich will continue to serve as members of the executive committee.

Howard Cohen, regional manager of the Red Lion Hotels, was honored by the American Hotel & Motel Association with its first annual Volunteer of the Year Award. The award was presented to Cohen at the 1999 Annual Conference in Nashville. Cohen serves on the board of directors of the Issaquah-based Washington State Hotel & Motel Association.
Edwin D. Rauzi, founder of Davis Wright Tremaine's Honolulu office, has returned to the law firm's headquarters in Seattle. Rauzi's practice is devoted to the area of health law, representing providers across the full continuum of the healthcare delivery system, including hospitals, nursing facilities and entities involved in managed care contracting.
Cindy A. Tramountanas has joined the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky in the Seattle office as an associate. Tramountanas received her J.D. from Seattle University in 1999 and will concentrate her practice in insurance defense, litigation and maritime law.
Cost-U-Less, a Bellevue-based operator of non-membership warehouse club-style stores, has opened its second location in New Zealand. This is the company's 13th store location.
Tracy Redding has been named a partner in the newly renamed Lawrence-Redding Group, where he is also vice president-investment officer and portfolio manager. The group is part of First Union Securities. A financial advisor for the past 18 years, Redding was with Piper Jaffray for 16 years before joining Everen Securities in 1997. Everen and Wheat First Union merged to form First Union Securities last month
