The Northwest Food Processors Association installed Celeste Gazarek as its chair. Gazarek is the vice president of finance and treasurer of National Frozen Foods in Seattle. The association represents 80 processing companies in the Northwest.
Kelly Stone announced her resignation as director of sales at Cascade Designs. Stone has been with Cascade since 1996. Cascade will replace Stone by creating a new position called vice president, outdoor group. Cascade Designs manufactures Therm-a-Rest, MSR, Platypus, SweetWater, Packtowl, SealLine and Tracks outdoor brands.
InFocus of Wilsonville, Ore., appointed KPMG as its independent public accountant. The board of directors ordered the switch from Arthur Andersen after a review. KPMG absorbed 123 audit and tax professionals from Andersen's Portland office due to the decision. InFocus manufactures and markets digital projection technology and services.
Seattle Design Center's recent spring public preview raised $1,500 for the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center. Seattle Design Center showcases furniture, fabric, accessories, architectural products and designer offices by 1,500 manufacturers from around the world.
The Puget Sound Home Buying Expo will be at the Stadium Exhibition Center in Seattle on Saturday, June 15. Admission is free and the hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The event is sponsored by John L Scott and Seattle Mortgage

Richard L. Frisch is the new president of the Washington State University Foundation and will serve as WSU vice president of development. Frisch most recently served as interim president of the University of Hawaii Foundation and will assume his new positions in June. The WSU Foundation was established in 1979 raising more than $610 million for Washington State University. Len M. Jessup is the new dean of WSU's College of Business and Economics. Jessup has been with WSU since 2000. Former accounting chair and professor Glenn L. Johnson will retire in June following 23 years with the university.
Ronald Riggins has been named dean of Western Washington University's Fairhaven College. he had been serving as interim dean since 2001. Riggins joined the Western faculty in 1977 as an assistant professor of physical education, health and recreation. He became a full professor in 1991 and was department chair from 1988 to 1992.
The 5th Avenue Theatre appointed Bernadine C. Griffin to a newly created position of director of development. Griffin will head theatre's annual campaign, fund-raising and development and report to Marilynn Sheldon, managing director. Griffin was most recently, development director at the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.
Arnerich Massena & Associates hired Jayson Davidson as a consultant. Davidson was previously vice president of institutional sales for the Western U.S. with ICMA Retirement. Arnerich Massena, based in Portland, offers investment management and consulting services.
Lake Washington Technical College has been awarded a $40,000 grant from Boeing to upgrade software in its engineering graphics program. The Kirkland college will purchase work stations and install new three-dimensional design software for the fall quarter.
