WRF Capital named Jeff Eby chief financial officer. Eby is the former chief financial officer of the Seattle Art Museum. WRF Capital is the venture investment arm of Washington Research Foundation and helps to create financial support for research and scholarship at Washington state institutions.

The University Inn at Salmon Creek in Vancouver will be renamed the Red Lion Inn at Salmon Creek in July through a franchise deal with WestCoast Hospitality Corp. The new 89-room property is owned by Salmon Creek Lodging and managed by HMG Lodging Management.
Everett Mayor Ed Hanson will take over as Snohomish County PUD general manager on July 1. Hanson began his professional career as a legislative assistant to U.S. Senator Henry M. Jackson. He was elected mayor of Everett in 1994 and was elected last November to a third, four-year term. Frank Anderson, city council president, will succeed Hanson as Everett's interim mayor.
Seattle's Best Coffee opened its sixth cafe in Hawaii at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Resort. The 660-square-foot cafe is part of a franchise agreement with GNS Hawaii Corp. to develop 14 cafes in the Hawaiian Islands over the next five years.

Boeing named Kevin Brown vice president of its Air Traffic Management Programs. Brown replaces Kent Fisher, who was recently promoted to vice president in the marketing organization of Boeing Commercial Airplanes. Brown was director of Puget Sound engineering for ATM, serving as deputy to the vice president of engineering and site leader for the unit's facility in Bellevue.
The Seattle-based biotech and specialty pharmaceutical development company Corus Pharma named Donald Seaton chief financial officer. Most recently, Seaton was CFO for Talisma Corp. and prior to that he served as CFO and COO for SonoSite.
The Asian Pacific Islander Community Leadership Foundation selected 11 participants for its 2002 Community Leaders Program. The 11 newest participants are: Charlie Chang, Washington Investment Network; Rebecca Choi, Education Assistance Foundation; Monica Ghosh, University of Washington; Moselle Horiuchi, Plymouth Housing Group; Sayumi Irey, Bellevue Community College; Melissa Kanaya, YWCA; Jason Liu, Asia International; Brenda Sevilla, city of Seattle; Viet Shelton, Mayor Nickels' office; Masako Tamura, Asian Counseling and Referral Services; and Audrey Wang, Safeco. The foundation develops leaders sensitive to the concerns of the Asian Pacific Islander community.
Moore Business Communications has changed its name to Moore Presentations. The Seattle company produces branded and customized presentations for clients such as Nordstrom and Washington Mutual.
Matthew Cadman has been named customer relationship marketing management supervisor at cole & weber/red cell. Cadman was an account director at Wilmer Communications, where he managed the account services department. The branding agency has offices in Seattle and Portland.
Wells Fargo named Mark Dederer vice president and community relations manager. Dederer worked with Wells Fargo Community Support in Seattle. He will oversee charitable contributions in Washington.
