Jeffrey D. Laveson and Sandip Soli have joined the firm of Carney Badley Spellman. Laveson was formerly a partner at the law firm of Lane Powell Spears Lubersky. Soli was previously a clerk at the Washington State Court of Appeals, Division One.
Brasa co-owners Tamara Murphy and Bryan Hil are now offerring Brasa Catering from their Belltown restaurant. Catering services are offered for in-home as well as large events.
Rich Corona has been appointed vice president for business and financial affairs at Central Washington University. The appointment was made after Dr. Jay D. Kenton withdrew from the position he was to assume July 1, citing personal and professional reasons. Corona had been serving as interim president for business and financial affairs for the past year. He was among five finalists for the position.
The University of Washington, Tacoma named Carol Van Natta director of development and alumni relations. Van Natta was previously director of development for the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver.
Dale Larson has been appointed a vice president of Alexander Hutton's investment banking services. Recently, Larson has been an owner or advisor to privately held companies in the Northwest. Alexander Hutton is a middle-market investment-banking firm headquartered in Seattle

Kraig Hansen is the new executive chef at Palomino. Hansen was previously executive chef at Kincaid's Boathouse in Oakland, Calif., and is a former lead cook and sous chef at Palisade. Palomino is located on the third floor of the City Centre building in downtown Seattle.
PNGC Power promoted Scott Corwin to vice president of marketing and public affairs. Corwin joined PNGC in 1999 as manager of government affairs. PNGC is a Portland-based electric power services corporation owned by 15 Northwest electric distribution utilities.
Jose Gaitan and Linda Killinger joined the board of trustees at the Seattle Art Museum. Gaitan is an attorney and managing partner of the Gaitan Group. Killinger is a former managing director of consulting services for Deloitte & Touche.
Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants has re-opened the former Aspen Club Lodge as the Sky Hotel in Aspen, Colo. The hotel has 84 guestrooms and six suites. Kimpton Hotels is based in San Francisco and operates 35 hotels and 29 restaurants in the U.S. and Canada, including Seattle's Hotel Monaco.
KNCB Dave has promoted Laurie Christomos to account supervisor, public relations. The firm also announce the addition of the Oak Barn to their client list. KNCB Dave is a full-service marketing and public relations agency in Seattle.
Best Buy will open a 45,000-square-foot store at the Tacoma Mall this fall. The consumer electronics and appliance retailer will occupy property south of the mall, across 47th Street. Also joining the mall in the coming months are abercrombie, Helzberg Diamonds, Build-a-Bear, Philly's Sandwiches, Beauty Works, Proctor Sports Cards, Limited Too and Casual Choice. The Tacoma Mall is managed by Simon Property Group
