Washington State University

 The Washington State University Board of Regents has designated its 70-year-old Hotel and Restaurant Administration program as the School of Hospitality Business Management. The hospitality program is the fifth oldest in the United States. The program also offers a degree in hospitality in Europe, through a sister program in Brig, Switzerland.

Seattle Executives Association

 The Seattle Executives Association elected Lucille Noel, president of Novar Corp., as president. He will serve for the next six months. Also elected are Rich Favaro, president of Bellevue’s PC Help, as first vice president; and Burke Barker, president of Empire Home Remodeling, as second vice president. The Seattle Executive Association was established in 1916 and currently includes over 100 chief executive officers, presidents and senior executives.

Doggy Heaven

 A new pet products boutique geared toward dogs, cats and birds has opened on Harbor Avenue in West Seattle. Doggy Heaven is located across from the West Seattle Water Taxi landing and specializes in pet food and features a bakery case of locally produced dog treats such as Puppy Pizza, Carob Drizzled Peanut Butter Hearts and Bacon Bears. The store also has a kitty corner with gourmet catnip and all-natural cat foods. Janelle Zorko opened the store. She has operated an online pet products store since 1998.

Washington Planned Giving Council

 The Washington Planned Giving Council, The Estate Planning Council of Seattle and Leave a Legacy of Western Washington have formed an alliance to educate the public about estate planning in a way that serves families, charities and the community. The alliance also assists nonprofit organizations to find legacy donors. Seattle Propeller Club

 New officers for the Seattle Propeller Club are: James Schone, Marine Marketing, president; Peter Philips, Pacific Maritime Magazine, vice president; Russell Williams, Gaspich & Williams, secretary; and James Keough, CSX Lines, treasurer. Joining the board of governors are: Leslie Hughes of the NPF Vessel Owners Association and Bret Dodson of Odyssey Maritime Discovery Center. The Seattle Propeller Club promotes maritime commerce in the Puget Sound region.

Boullioun Aviation Services

Boullioun Aviation Services named Karla Torheim as senior vice president of finance and Mark Jackson as vice president of capital markets. Torheim will be responsible for managing Boullioun's third-party financing relationships. Jackson will be responsible for aircraft sales to investors and secondary-market aircraft acquisitions. Jackson is joining Boullioun from WestLB of Dusseldorf, Germany, and will be based in London. Torheim previously served as senior vice president, treasurer at Boullioun and will be based in Seattle.

Helix BioMedix

Parker Sroufe and Kerry Palmer joined the senior management team at Helix BioMedix. Sroufe is filling a newly created position of executive vice president. Palmer will serve as the company's new chief financial officer. Sroufe was previously CEO of the Webster Management Group and Palmer was previously corporate controller for Wall Data. Helix BioMedix, based in Bothell, develops and markets bioactive peptides.

Seattle Systems

Seattle Systems, based in Poulsbo, appointed Christopher Welch as its new director of sales. In this newly created post, Welch will lead the company's sales efforts. Welch joins the company from Johnson & Johnson Inc. where he was the executive director of sales and marketing.

USA Internet has launched a new shopping portal called SeattleShoppingGuide.com. The site is organized into three sections: the main directory with a search engine of local merchants; a neighborhood shopping directory; and eight premier shopping guides, covering B2B shopping, health, entertainment, retail, and travel and vacation. Among the initial companies signed on to the site are the Washington Athletic Club, Alexis Hotel, Seattle Boat Charters, Boreas Inn, Payroll Solutions., Emerald City Charters, Marci Jewelry, Delta Whistler Resorts and Barcelino
