Short Cressman & Burgess

Scott R. Sleight has joined the Seattle law firm of Short Cressman & Burgess as of counsel. His practice will focus on surety law and litigation for construction, real estate, general commercial and insurance. The firm also named Bethany Thompson as an associate. She will concentrate her practice on construction and real estate litigation.

Washington Transportation Commission

The Washington Transportation Commission elected Aubrey Davis as chair. Davis is currently chair of the executive committee of the Trans-Lake Washington Project and was previously chair of the Transportation Commission's benchmark subcommittee. The commission also re-elected George Kargianis as vice-chair. Kargianis is currently chair of the Executive Committee of the I-405 Project. The Washington Transportation Commission is made up of seven private citizens appointed by the governor for six-year terms.

Zebra Hill Marketing

Zebra Hill Marketing named Amanda Salyers as an account manager. Slayers was previously account manger at Opal Enterprises. She will be based in Zebra's Bellevue office. Zebra Hill is a promotional merchandising firm headquartered in Bellevue with offices in Wisconsin and California. The firm currently has plans to expand to Texas and North Carolina.

Dine for America

Steve Stoddard was recently recognized for his organizing efforts of Dine for America by the National Restaurant Association. Stoddard is the CEO of the Seattle-based Restaurant's Unlimited. Last year's Dine for America raised more than $18 million dollars for the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund from 35 participating restaurants.

City of SeaTac

Bruce Rayburn has been named city manager for the city of SeaTac. Rayburn was previously the city's public works director, a position he has held for the past 12 years. Among his accomplishments Rayburn is credited with the transformation of Highway 99 into International Boulevard.

Practice of Law Board

Doug Cruikshank was appointed to newly formed Practice of Law Board. Cruikshank is a member of the Bellevue-based law firm of Clark Nuber. The board was formed to promote access to law services, expand public confidence in the judicial system and enforce rules prohibiting questionable and illegal law services in the state of Washington.

Exclaim

Exclaim Image and Media shortened its name to Exclaim and moved its offices to the Western Triangle Building at 2125 Western Ave. John Schuler is founder and art director of the five-year-old, five-person design and advertising firm that is known for its work with Spacelabs, Seastar Restaurant and Raw Bar, Lumicor, Argosy Cruises and Illuminet. Exclaim also has a new Web address at www.exclaimllc.com.

Loudeye

Loudeye acquired assets from privately held, Los Angeles-based Digital Media Broadcast, formerly EncodeThis! The acquisition expands Loudeye's presence in the media and entertainment industry along with Digital Media's sales staff.  Loudeye's Los Angeles office will be supervised by Steven Samuels, Digital Media Broadcast's former CEO.

Wells Fargo

Robin Sjolund has been named market manager of the newly formed Central Sound Community Banking market for Wells Fargo. Sjolund is a 17-year veteran of Wells Fargo and will oversee 33 team members located in Alderwood, Lake City, Lynnwood and Wedgwood. Sjolund will be based at the Alderwood store. Wells Fargo also named Mary Wetmore market manager of its newly formed Cascade Community Banking market. Wetmore is a 21-year veteran of Wells Fargo and will oversee 40 team members in Everett, Monroe and Snohomish. She will be based in Everett.

Stevens International Forwarders

Gregory S. Weets joined Stevens International Forwarders in Seattle as an account executive. He will be responsible for selling international relocation and storage services to companies and individuals, specializing in international relocation of families. Previously, Weets was employed with United Van Lines. Stevens International Forwarders is a part of Stevens Worldwide Van Lines based in Saginaw, Mich.

Heritage Financial

Heritage Financial Corp. named Edward D. Cameron corporate secretary. Cameron succeeds Wendy Gauksheim who recently resigned after 16 years with the company. Cameron has been with Heritage since 1999 and will retain his current titles as vice president and treasurer of Heritage Financial and senior vice president and treasurer of Heritage Bank. Heritage Financial is a bank holding company headquartered in Olympia serving Pierce, Thurston and Mason counties as well as Yakima and Kittitas counties through its Central Valley Bank.
