Childhaven

Jon Flora has was named chief executive officer and Debra Ronnholm, was promoted to president and chief operating officer at Childhaven. Flora has more than 20 years of experience in leading multi-million dollar fundraising campaigns, organizational development and management. He previously served as principal at Jon Flora Enterprises, was president and chief executive officer of the Independent Colleges of Washington and served as director of development for Whitworth College in Spokane. Ronnholm has been with Childhaven since 1990 and was previously acting executive director. Childhaven is a nonprofit organization providing prevention, early intervention and treatment programs to eliminate child abuse and neglect. The organization is planning to build $15 million treatment center at its Broadway site.

Columbia Bank

Columbia Bank named Margi Legowik as an investment executive to work exclusively with the bank's private banking clients. Legowik was previously a financial advisor with US Bancorp Piper Jaffray in the Puget Sound area. The bank also appointed Stan Ausmus, senior vice president and branch manager, to its retail banking group. Ausmus will be in charge of Columbia's new business banking program. Columbia Bank has 35 branches in Pierce, King, Cowlitz, Kitsap and Thurston counties.

Boeing

Boeing has relocated the 7E7 team to its main Everett facility. The team includes program management, airplane development, supplier management, suppliers and the associated support functions. It was previously housed at Boeing's Bomarc facility, two miles from the main plant.

Washington State University

The Washington State Association of Broadcasters has pledged $100,000 to the new addition of the Edward R. Murrow School of Communication at Washington State University. The addition is a $12.7 million project and will open in spring 2004, with research and teaching labs, a digital TV news studio, faculty offices and a 172-seat classroom auditorium. The association will pay the $100,000 donation in four, annual $25,000 contributions.

Excellence in Family Business Awards

The application deadline for entering the 2003 Excellence in Family Business Awards has been extended to July 31. Family-owned businesses from Oregon, Idaho, Washington and California are eligible to apply for the award, which is sponsored by Oregon State University's Austin Family Business Program in the College of Business. Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson

Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson, a Seattle-based business law and litigation firm, named Nadine Weiskopf and Eugene Wong to its team. Weiskopf practices in bankruptcy, creditors’ rights, general business and commercial litigation. Wong has experience in taxation, business planning and real estate.

Wells Fargo

Wells Fargo named three new Community Banking managers for Eastside stores. Eric Francis has been promoted to manager of the Coal Creek Parkway store in Newcastle. Mitra Khosravianiis manager of the Factoria store. Jackie Smith manages the Issaquah store.

Expedia

Expedia announced Gregory Stanger plans to step down as chief financial officer later this quarter. Stanger, who has served as the company's CFO since October 1999 and as a director since February 2002, intends to resign after a transition period following the anticipated Aug. 8 closing of the merger with IAC/InterActiveCorp. The company will name a successor prior to his departure. Stanger and IAC are exploring the possibility of a new role for Stanger within IAC.

Columbia Hospitality

Columbia Hospitality, a Seattle-based hospitality management and consulting company, will operate and

manage western Washington's newest conference center, The Centre of Bremerton. The new waterfront conference center is set to open in the summer of 2004. CHI recently was signed on to manage Harbor Steps Conference Center in Seattle. CHI plans to draw primarily local and regional conferences to the Centre.

Fluid Enterprises

Bellingham-based Fluid Enterprises, a subsidiary of St. Louis-based Harbour Group, has acquired Jasco Chemical Corp. Founded in 1947, Jasco is based in Santa Ana, Calif. It makes paint removers and surface preparation products, including strippers, wood refinishers and preservatives, adhesive removers, masonry and concrete preparation products, and sealers. Fluid Enterprises is a supplier of consumer and contractor products, including household cleaning products, texture repair products, and kitchen, bath and plumbing accessories.
