Union will be opened at the end of September by executive chef and owner Ethan Stowell. The restaurant is located at the corner of First Avenue and Union Street in downtown Seattle and will offer Northwest cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Stowell, a Seattle native, has cooked in many of the city’s better restaurants including Nell’s, The Ruins, The Painted Table and Szmania’s.
Eric Featherstone has been named partner in Melby, Cameron & Hull, an association organization and consulting firm based in Edmonds. Featherstone has been with the company as an association executive for the past two-and-a-half years and currently serves as executive director of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties and the Building Commissioning Association.
Todd Shipyards Corp. elected Admiral David E. Jeremiah, formerly of the U.S. Navy (Ret.), to its board of directors. Jeremiah is president of Technology Strategies & Alliances Corp., a strategic advisory and investment banking firm working primarily in the aerospace, defense, telecommunications and electronics industry.
Lawrence Canary has been named assistant fire marshal by the King County Fire Marshal’s Office. In addition to Canary’s experience as a fire investigator for King County, he has extensive experience in the private investigation field. He will be responsible for the day-to-day management and supervision of all activities within the Fire Investigation Unit.

Sean Hardwick has joined Sedgwick Rd. as vice president and group account director for Washington Mutual. Hardwick comes to the agency from TBWA/Chiat/Day in London, where he was account director for the European Apple Computer account. Hardwick also led the launch of Apple’s “Think Different” campaign in the U.S. Sedgwick Rd., previously McCann-Erickson, is a Seattle full-service advertising agency.
Crowley Maritime promoted Todd Busch to general manager of its Southern California ship assist and escort services operations. Busch, previously based in Seattle, will relocate to San Pedro, Calif. Crowley operates six harbor tugs at the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, and two harbor tugs in the port of San Diego. Busch has been with Oakland-based Crowley for 16 years.
Bullivant Houser Bailey has named Toni Y. Davis a member of its insurance coverage practice group in Seattle. Davis is experienced in the areas of legal and real estate malpractice, personal injury, school law and general tort claims. Bullivant Houser Bailey is a 180-attorney law firm with locations in Seattle, Vancouver, Portland, Sacramento, San Francisco, Irvine, Calif., and Las Vegas.
Schwartz Brothers Restaurants appointed Julie Hawkinson chef of its newly re-named Spazzo Italian Grill. Hawkinson, formerly of Brasa, Stars and Zefiro, will lead development of Spazzo’s new, all-Italian menu as the restaurant transitions to upscale Italian dining in November. Spazzo Italian Grill is located at 10655 N.E. Fourth in Bellevue.
The King County Sexual Assault Resource Center has been awarded a $25,000 grant from the Muckleshoot Indian Tribal Council Charity Fund. The center provides in-depth training and education on assault prevention. The Muckleshoot Charity Fund is funded by proceeds from the Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn.
Tully’s Coffee has expanded its distribution to 1,200 Safeway stores in Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon and Washington. The move increases Tully's presence at Safeway locations by 300 percent. Tully’s Coffee is also currently available at Albertsons, Andronico’s, Associated Grocers, Fred Meyer, Haggen, Larry’s Markets, QFC, Rosauers Supermarkets, Top Food & Drugs, and Whole Foods Markets.
