Estep, Gray & Associates

Estep, Gray & Associates, an association management firm, has changed its name to ERGA, Inc., reflecting both company growth and a new partnership. Tammy Reno has been named partner and will share responsibilities with Andrew Estep, president. Reno leaves a career in library sciences.

Davis Wright Tremaine, LLP

Davis Wright Tremaine, a national law firm, recently hired new associates for its Portland office. The new associates are Jeff Lindberg, formerly a judicial law clerk at the Oregon Court of Appeals; Joseph Mattoon, formerly a summer law clerk for ScP Boineau in Paris and a legal intern for General Electric International Law and Policy; and Trinh C. Tran, whose legal experience includes a summer clerkship at David Wright Tremaine and internships in the trial unit of the Multnomah County district attorney’s office and in the legal department of Chrome Systems in Portland.

Marshall and Associates

The U.S. Small Business Administration certified Marshall and Associates, a GIS consulting firm, as a women-owned, small business and 8(a) firm. The 8(a) program helps socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs gain a foothold in government contracting. As an 8(a) firm, Marshall is eligible to receive sole-source contracts up to $3 million in goods and services and $5 million in manufacturing.

Bates Technical College

Ruth Ann Dotson, a Bates Technical College career counselor, has been selected by the International Association of Machinists and the Boeing Quality Through Training program to attend Learning Summit 2003 at Boeing’s Leadership Center in October. Approximately 150 professionals from around the world will attend sessions on business impact, training partnerships and eLearning. Dotson has represented Bates at Boeing’s manufacturing site in Frederickson since 1996 and has presented at several national colleges for Boeing.

Washington Restaurant Association

The Washington Restaurant Association appointed six new members to its board of directors. The new members are Herbert “Budd” Gould, III, founder and owner of Anthony’s Restaurants of Bellevue; Michael Carr, of Bellevue’s Schwartz Brothers Restaurants; Lyle Hildahl, of Flounder Bay Café in Anacortes; Allan Aquila, general manager at Yarrow Bay Associates in Kirkland; Debbie Atwell, general manager at the Port Angeles Crabhouse Restaurant; and Karl Bruno, director of food and beverage for Earth and Ocean Restaurant in Seattle.

Gordon Graham & Company

Gordon Graham & Company, a curriculum-based training and development firm, has announced two promotions and an addition. Katie Olney, who has been with the company for 19 years, has been named executive vice president. Catherine Crosslin has been named senior vice president and Heidi North was recently hired as a communications director.

TimberGrass changes name

TimberGrass, manufacturer of TimberGrass bamboo hardwood flooring and panels, has changed its name to Teragren. The change reflects from the company’s plans to expand its product offerings over the next few years.

National Peace Corps Association

Collin Tong, senior director of new and westside communications for Washington State University, has been appointed to the National Peace Corps Association’s board of directors. Tong served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Thailand from 1968 to 1969 and is a guest lecturer at the university’s Edward R. Murrow School of Communication. While in Thailand, Tong taught at Phuket Girls School and led teacher training programs at Mater Dei School in Bangkok and the General Education Development Center in Songhla.

Treehouse moves to Rainier Valley

Treehouse, an organization that provides developmental opportunities and educational support for foster children, is moving to a new building located at 2100 24th Ave. S in Rainier Valley. The building is approximately 20,000 square feet and will serve over 1,000 additional children. Due to the move, Treehouse programs will be closed October 15th, 16th, and 17th.
