Sterling Savings Bank

Sterling Savings Bank has promoted Lisa Wang to vice president. Wang is the Burien branch manager and has been with Sterling since 2000. She is an active participant in Highline School’s Fund for Excellence Organization and the Southwest Chamber of Commerce.

Antioch University Seattle

Antioch University Seattle elected six new members to its board of visitors, which assists the university in community relations and fundraising efforts. The new members are Anil Coumar, director of Hall Health Mental Health Clinic; Mel Crawford, a shareholder in the MacDonald Hoague & Bayless law firm; Thyra DeHaven, market manager for the student banking division of U.S. Bank; Dawn Mason, former Washington state representative; Claudia Kauffman-RedMorningStar, intergovernmental affairs liaison for the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe; and Ray A. Williams, a recipient of the 1993 Pax Christi International Cardinal Alfrink Peace Award.

Portland Newspapers

Robert Bickler, publisher of the Yakima Herald-Republic, has been named president and general manager of Portland Newspapers. Mike Shepard, publisher of the Union-Bulletin in Walla Walla, will succeed Bickler. The transition is expected to occur during the next few weeks.

Washington State Transportation Commission

Governor Gary Locke appointed Dale Stedman of Spokane and A. Daniel O’Neal of Mason County to the Washington State Transportation Commission. Stedman is the retired president and CEO of the Inland Automobile Association. O’Neal formerly served as chairman of the Interstate Commerce Commission.

McAdams Wright Ragen

The Northwest brokerage firm McAdams Wright Ragen moved its headquarters to the IDX Tower, at the intersection of Fourth Avenue and Madison Street in Seattle. The new office address is 925 Fourth Ave., Suite 3900. McAdams’ phone numbers and e-mail addresses have not changed.

Daigle Design, a Puget Sound graphic design and web communications company, has hired Robin Purcell as an account executive to develop and service new clientele. Purcell has over 15 years of experience as a communications professional. Prior to her employment at Daigle Design she worked as a program manager for Hewlett Packard and as an advertising and promotions manager for Amazon.com.

Carney Badley Spellman

Stephanie A. Henderson joined the law firm of Carney Badley Spellman as an associate upon completion of a one-year clerkship with Chief Justice Gerry L. Alexander of the Washington State Supreme Court. During her last two years of law school at Gonzaga University, Henderson worked as a legal intern for Paine, Hamblen, Coffin, Brook & Miller in Spokane. Before attending law school, Henderson taught English at a private high school in Paris.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank has promoted Brette Sangster to vice president, real estate loan officer. Based in Wenatchee, she is responsible for all phases of real estate lending. For the past 10 years Sangster has worked as a loan officer with Banner Bank/First Savings Bank. Prior to that she was a loan processor and closer at Cashmere Valley Bank.

Seattle Pacific Industries announced that Skyway Luggage Company has been licensed to produce Unionbay luggage and casual travel gear. Seattle Pacific Industries designs, produces and markets a wide variety of sportswear under the Unionbay, Reunion and Sergio Valente labels.
