The Kimpton Hotel Group, a San Francisco-based company that currently operates 38 hotels and 34 restaurants across North America, promoted Dave Ruehlmann to regional vice president. Ruehlmann was regional director of operations for Kimpton Boutique Hotels. In his new position, he will be responsible for the daily operations of 11 hotels located throughout the Pacific Northwest, Colorado and Utah. Before joining Kimpton, Ruehlmann was vice president of operations for Promus Hotels.
Dr. James D. Johnson, retired U.S. Navy captain, has been appointed chair of the department of endodontics and program director for the Advanced Specialty Education Program in endodontics at the University of Washington. Johnson is the former research department chair at the Naval Postgraduate Dental School in Bethesda, Md.
Hillis Clark Martin & Peterson, a Seattle-based law firm, hired Esther C. Bartfeld as an associate. Bartfeld is a graduate of the University of Washington School of Law. Prior to joining Hillis, she was an associate with Davis Wright & Tremaine, where her practice emphasized litigation matters.
The South Snohomish County Chamber of Commerce named Barbara Earl, co-owner and founder of BETS associates, 2003 recipient of the John M. Fluke, Sr. Community Service Award. Established in 1970, the award honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the community and is a member in good standing of the chamber. Allstate Exclusive Agent Rodney Jones opened a new office, Valley Insurance, at 23745 225th Way S.E. in Maple Valley. Allstate, an insurance provider, serves over 16 million households throughout the U.S. and Canada. Jones, who joined Allstate in February, has over 16 years of military experience.

The Animal Referral and Emergency Center, located in Lynnwood at 19511 24th Ave. W, hired Dr. Jennifer Graham, a veterinary specialist in exotic pet care. Graham graduated from the University of California at Davis School of Veterinary Medicine with advanced training in avian, small exotic mammal and reptile medicine. The Animal Referral and Emergency Center is a member of the Pet's Choice network of veterinary hospitals and specialty practices.
Moss Adams, an accounting and consulting firm based in Seattle, named Roger E. Rancourt partner in the Everett office. Rancourt began his career in public accounting over 12 years ago and focuses primarily on business assurance engagements. He is the Everett office manufacturing and distribution industry group leader and also serves on the guidance board for the group.
Columbia Bank named Todd LePique vice president and manager of its Fife branch. The former manager, Julie Borell, will manage Columbia Bank's South Hill Mall branch. LePique previously served as vice president and premier banking client manager at Bank of America.
Waggener Edstrom Strategic Communications, a communications provider with headquarters in Seattle and London, opened an office in Paris to serve European and international clients. Heading the office will be General Manager Geraldine Teboul, who will lead new business efforts and serve existing clients that include small and medium-sized companies as well as large corporations seeking opportunity in the French market.
RGB Labs, Seattle-based developer of the GalleryPlayer, a visual programming service that transforms corporate and commercial environments into digital art and photography galleries, named Roger Ressmeyer vice president of creative direction and programming. Ressmeyer began his career as a professional photographer. His clients have included Life, Time, Newsweek, Stern, Geo and National Geographic.
