Seattle-based Muir Public Relations promoted Jennifer DeBels to project manager. DeBels will oversee marketing, invoicing and client management. She has four years' public relations experience in the high-tech and consumer markets.
Rex Rhoades was named Native American business development specialist for the small business development center at Western Washington University in Bellingham. Rhoades will manage an entrepreneurial outreach program in partnership with the Northwest Indian College. He will visit the Lummi, Nooksack, Upper Skagit, Tulalip, Swinomish, Sauk-Suiattle, Stillaguamish and Samish tribes to help business owners and people who want to start businesses. Rhoades was economic development director for the Lummi Indian Business Council.
Washington state's Department of Information Services Director and State Chief Information Officer Stuart McKee was selected as one of the nation's "Top 25 Doers, Dreamers and Drivers" by Government Technology magazine. McKee was recognized for improving services while facing budgetary cuts.
Yogalife Greenlake, a Seattle yoga studio, will open a space on Queen Anne at 8 Boston St. Owner and yoga teacher Michael Suzerris has practiced yoga for 14 years and taught for six years.
Quinault Beach Resort & Casino appointed Robert Southall as chief executive officer. Southall worked with Hilton Hotels Corp. and managed hotels in Nevada, Washington, Alaska and California. Quinault is owned by the Quinault Indian Nation and located on the beach at Ocean Shores.
The Seattle Times hired Rami Grunbaum, formerly an editor at the Puget Sound Business Journal, as deputy business editor. He will assist in planning for the business news department and oversee reporters covering Boeing, biotech, publicly traded companies and special projects. Former deputy business editor Tom Boyer is now assistant metro editor for politics.
Lynden Air Freight, a domestic and international freight forwarder, hired Nate Isaacson in its Seattle office as marketing coordinator. Isaacson will lead the company's customer satisfaction program. In Dallas, Joel Seay is district operations manager. Account executives Shelli Cox and Chris Marino have joined Denver's sales team. In Los Angeles and Houston, account executives David Rogers and Melida Ramirez joined Lynden's staff.

Darin Danner is general manager of Ruth's Chris Steak House in Seattle. Danner comes from the Bellevue Square Ruth's Chris Steak House where he was assistant manager. He was also regional area manager for Baja Fresh.
Jim Majeskey joins Bellevue-based Baldwin Resource Group as executive vice president of property and casualty operations. Baldwin provides business consulting, risk management and insurance services. Majeskey brings 40 years' experience in insurance and controlling losses for the construction, hospitality and manufacturing industries.
David J. Reading is manager of sales and service for the recently opened Old Dominion Freight Line service center in Seattle at 21320 84th Ave. S. Reading held industry positions in terminal and operations management as a traffic analyst and operations manager. Old Dominion is a regional freight carrier.
Lynnwood Public Facilities District hired Eddie T.L. Tadlock as general manager for the Lynnwood Convention Center. Tadlock was director of event services for the Washington State Conference and Trade Center. The Lynnwood Convention Center is scheduled to open in April 2005.
Glovis America, the logistics arm of the Hyundai and Kia Motor Corp., has redirected delivery routes for its cargo of Kias and Hyundais to the Port of Portland's Terminal 6 auto import facility. Portland was the port of entry for 366,383 vehicles from Hyundai, Toyota and Honda last year.
Seattle-based RealNetworks, a digital media services and software company, made changes to its staff. Dan Sheeran will run the company's international operations as a senior vice president. Sheeran worked in Asia and Europe on sales and marketing for nCUBE, a digital media systems provider. Savino "Sid" Ferrales joined as senior vice president of human resources. Ferrales worked in human resources with Interland, Dell Corporation and Digital Equipment Corp. Edmond Mesrobian was appointed vice president and chief technology officer. Karim Meghji was promoted to vice president of video services.
