Mayflower Park Hotel

Tony Craig and Wendy Patrice Waltz won awards in Where magazine's first Silver Plume Awards. Craig, who has been a houseman at Seattle's Mayflower Park Hotel for 20 years, won Hotel Employee of the Year. Waltz won runner-up as Best Concierge of the Year.

King County District Court

Gov. Gary Locke appointed King County District Court Judge J. Wesley Saint Clair to King County Superior Court. Saint Clair has more than 22 years of legal experience. He is the presiding judge of the King County District Court and serves on the District Court Funding Task Force for the Board of Judicial Administration. Saint Clair will replace retiring judge Donald Haley, who has served on the bench since 1983.

Delta Computer Systems

Michael Jackola was named regional sales manager at the motion control design and manufacturing company Delta Computer Systems. The Vancouver-based company hired Jackola in response to growing demand in states from North Dakota to Texas and western Canada. He holds a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from Seattle University.

Bon-Macy's

Bon-Macy's in Seattle promoted Jackie Robinette to divisional vice president for human resources. Mike Stapelman is divisional vice president for information technology. Katie Hollon and Carol Lorton have both been promoted to vice president and store manager. Bon-Macy's has corporate offices in Cincinnati and New York, and annual sales of more than $15.2 billion.

Williams, Kastner & Gibbs

Williams, Kastner & Gibbs added two associates to its staff. Heidi L. Evatt and Tom Falkner will both concentrate on commercial litigation. Evatt practiced with Fraser Stryker Meusey Olson Boyer & Bloch in Omaha. Falkner worked with the product liability practice group at Perkins Coie and was a professor at Seattle University's School of Law. The law firm has more than 90 lawyers in Seattle, Tacoma and Portland.

Seifert

Shannon M. Underwood joined Olympia-based Seifert law offices as associate attorney and will work on business-based immigration issues. Underwood has been a contract lawyer in the Puget Sound area and an associate attorney with Margaret C. Makar in Denver.

Taco Del Mar

The Seattle-based restaurant chain Taco Del Mar is setting up business in San Diego. Former technology executives John and Bertha Boyken, early investors in Taco Del Mar, signed on as San Diego-area master developers under the business name A Better Life Franchise Development. James Schmidt, who was a student in a University of California at San Diego entrepreneur program, brought the taco concept to Seattle where he created the Taco Del Mar brand.

Longview Fibre

Richard H. "Rick" Wollenberg was elected president, CEO and chairman of the board of Longview Fibre Co. Robert B. Arkell was elected senior vice president of industrial relations and general counsel. Longview Fibre operates a pulp-paper mill and owns 585,000 acres of timberlands under sustainable forestry in the Pacific Northwest. Wollenberg is based at corporate headquarters in Longview. He has worked in manufacturing, marketing and timberlands. Arkell will work in human resources, labor relations, and government and public affairs. Before his 33-year career with Longview Fibre, Arkell was a lawyer for Boeing.

Vadium

Tacoma company Vadium Technology, developer of a security encrypting technology, appointed Gordon Ross vice president of development. Ross has 15 years' executive experience. He was president of Net Nanny Software and director of Vancouver, B.C.-based Trove Resources. His background includes security and biometrics. Ross will lead Vadium's product development, delivery and customer service teams.
