Richard L. Anderson joined the board of directors for Cascade Financial Corp. Anderson is a public accountant and managing shareholder with Hascal, Sjoholm & Co. Cascade Bank is a state chartered commercial bank headquartered in Snohomish County. A new branch is set to open in the city of Snohomish this month. Issaquah Bank operates as a division of Cascade Bank and has two offices in North Bend and Issaquah.
Seattle-based Richmond Public Relations hired Kirsten Bell as account manager. Carrie Peters and Wendy Knutzen are account executives. Bell was an account supervisor at Murphy O'Brien Public Relations in Santa Monica, Calif., where she represented luxury resorts and hotels. Peters managed the launch of Amazon's Canadian Web site. Knutzen worked for Rubenstein Associates in New York with clients such as the New York City Marathon, Rockefeller Center and Tribeca Film Festival. Richmond Public Relations specializes in product launches, media relations and special events.
Marketing Drive Worldwide opened a Seattle office and named Rip Warendorf as vice president and managing director of Marketing Drive Seattle. Warendorf has 20 years of experience with media, consumer product and technology companies in New York and on the West coast. He ran a management consulting business in Bellevue. Marketing Drive Worldwide is a marketing services agency network with other offices in New York, Chicago, Boston, San Francisco, Mexico City, Bogota and Toronto.
Longview Fibre Co. promoted Wesley E. Schlenker to manager of support systems and David M. Devine to manager of reforestation. Schlenker worked with Longview at Vernonia as assistant manager of northwest Oregon timberlands and is a professional land surveyor. Devine will manage 10 million tree seedlings each year. He was a forester for Washington Department of Natural Resources.
Portland-based Americh Massena & Associates' CEO Tony Arnerich won an award for community leadership. The award was founded by the Portland Schools Foundation to recognize support to public schools. Arnerich Massena works with schools on enrichment programs to inner city students. The company offers investment consulting for corporations, governments, charities and estates.
The Mayflower Park Hotel's sales manager Erika Secord won an award recently from the Washington Society of Association Executives. She has been at the Mayflower for 17 years, and worked as reservation manager and sales manager. The hotel is at 405 Olive Way.

Winslow Hayes joined the Seattle branch of Charter Bank as a vice president. He has 29 years of banking experience in commercial credit and relationship management. Sylwia Starzynski joined as a relationship associate. Starzynski worked in banking, retail and life insurance in Poland. Charter has offices in Bellevue, Redmond, Kent and Seattle.
Margie Wilson joined Mount Vernon-based Skagitonians to Preserve Farmland as marketing and development coordinator. She will lead community outreach and donor development. Wilson worked as development and community relations director with Columbia River Mental Health Services in Vancouver.
Gov. Gary Locke recently named Uriel Iñiguez interim director of the Commission on Hispanic Affairs. Iñiguez will be interim director until November, while director Antonio Ginatta takes an extended leave of absence. Iñiguez is a correctional manager in the southwest region of the Washington Department of Corrections. He is a first-generation immigrant from Mexico.
The Downtown Seattle Association promoted two in its marketing and communications department. Anita Woo was appointed communications director and Kyle Vixie marketing manager. Woo, who was a Seattle television reporter and producer, will develop a communications strategy for the Downtown Seattle Association and Metropolitan Improvement District. Vixie will manage neighborhood marketing, and produce special events and advertising campaigns. Vixie developed the Denny Triangle neighborhood Web site and produced events such as RainDance and Summerstop.
Melinda Bryden is new corporate controller for Port Townsend Paper Corp. The Port Townsend Paper Family of Companies produces 325,000 tons of unbleached paper products at its mill in Port Townsend.
ViaTech Publishing Solutions recently moved from Longview into a new office in Kalama River Industrial Park at the Port of Kalama. The digital printer publishes technical books and training materials. The company is based in Bay Shore, N.Y., and has 11 locations in the U.S. and Europe.
