Davis Wright Tremaine

Peter Johnson and Jennifer Lenga Long are associates in the Seattle office of law firm Davis Wright Tremaine. Johnson focuses on estate planning. Long returns to the company after a judicial clerkship with Judge Robert R. Beezer, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Davis Wright has nine offices in the Pacific Northwest.

MTM Luxury Lodging

Seattle's MTM Luxury Lodging named Pat O'Brien senior vice president of operations. O'Brien will oversee management of the company's five hotels so founder and chief executive officer Jim Treadway, and executive vice president James Simkins can focus on acquiring and opening more properties.

Four new hotels are under development and construction, two are in Washington state, and others are in San Diego and Boston.

Rosetta Biosoftware

Seattle-based Rosetta Biosoftware named Scott DePriest director of business development. DePriest directed information business development for a library at Incyte Genomics, and held senior sales management positions at Paracel and Tripos. Rosetta Biosoftware provides bioinformatics solutions for life science research.

Marion St. Design

Seattle's Marion St. Design named Alan Jennings designer. Jennings had been freelancing at Gable Design Group, which later merged with Remer to form Marion St. Design. Jennings has also done work for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Pacific Northwest Ballet and Ketcham Design Group.

Association of Legal Administrators

Shirley Legg, office manager of Miller Nash's Seattle office, is president-elect of the Puget Sound chapter of the Association of Legal Administrators for 2005-06. Legg was chapter secretary and has worked in the legal field for 30 years. At Miller Nash she oversees human resources, systems/IT and marketing. Miller Nash also has offices in Portland and Vancouver.

Banner Bank

Banner Bank has added an international banking department. It will be managed by Christine (Chris) Martin and Debbie Gelbach, who have shared the management role at international banking departments for 14 years. Banner President and CEO D. Michael Jones said more small and mid-sized companies are doing international business. Banner Bank is headquartered in Walla Walla.

Women's University Club

The Women's University Club announced its board of trustees: Linda Beecher, president, Joy Goodenough, president-elect, and Alberta Ellison, secretary. Trustees are Sue Cairns, Rhonda Staton, Sue Haas, Joan Algarin, Shelley Dahl and Nancy Birdwell. The club was founded in 1914 to promote educational, cultural and social activities for college-educated women.

Stoel Rives

Law firm Stoel Rives appointed Gordon Tanner of its Seattle office to a firmwide executive committee. Tanner practices in commercial real estate and commercial finance, with a focus on agriculture. Stoel Rives has operations in the western U.S.

Bankruptcy Court

Judge Philip H. Brandt was reappointed to the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Western District of Washington. Brandt maintains chambers in Seattle and is currently the western district of Washington's chief bankruptcy judge, overseeing administration of the bankruptcy court. His second 14-year term will be effective Oct. 12.

Belltown Bistro

The 2,200-square-foot Belltown Bistro opened this week at 2322 First Ave., replacing what was the Belltown Pub. Owners Dan Anderson and Bart Evans designed the interior to have fold-back windows, mahogany accents and a balconied second floor. The owners also run BluWater Bistros on Lake Union, Leschi and Greenlake.

Puget Sound Regional Council

The General Assembly of the Puget Sound Regional Council elected Pierce County Executive John Ladenburg as president and Auburn Councilmember Sue Singer as vice president. The council coordinates distribution of about $160 million in federal funds each year for transportation projects in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Kitsap counties.
