Dr. Ronald E. Inge, associate executive director of the American Dental Association, has been named vice president and dental director of Washington Dental Service, a dental benefits company based in Washington.

BioPassword, an Issaquah-based provider of software-only biometric security technology, has hired Greg Wood as chief technology officer and executive vice president in charge of intellectual property and new product development. Wood was formerly chief security officer for Microsoft. BioPassword provides user authentication software to make critical data and networks secure.

Hughes Thorsness has changed its name to Hughes Bauman Pfiffner Gorski & Seedorf in order to reflect senior members. The name Hughes is kept to recognize John Hughes, who practiced law with the firm from 1951 to 1980. The company also moved to the top of the Arctic Slope Regional Corp. Building in Anchorage.
Mark Hugh, a shareholder with Clark Nuber, was elected to the board of the Washington State Society of CPAs. The organization serves 8,500 certified professional accountants.
The Bellevue Business Journal has changed its name and expanded its focus. It will be renamed Eastside Business Monthly and cover businesses in Issaquah, Kirkland, Mercer Island, Newcastle, Redmond, Sammamish and Woodinville, in addition to Bellevue.

American Safari Cruises named Jackie Johnson general sales manager. Johnson has 25 years of experience in the cruise and tour industry. She was a vice president of sales for Norweigan Cruise Lines. American Safari is a luxury yacht cruising firm based in Lynnwood.
The Court Management Council recently recognized King County Superior Court Clerk Barbara Miner as the state's court manager of the year. The council is made of a statewide group of court officials, and recognizes full-time court managers. Miner has worked in Washington courts for nearly 15 years.
Sterling Savings Bank recently opened a private and business banking branch in downtown Seattle in the Second and Seneca Building at 1191 Second Ave. Heading the business banking team is Paul Dini, whose staff includes Sally Johnson, Doug Thatcher, Deanna Donovan and Kim Hendricks. Bob Clements leads a private banking team, which also has Sylvia See, Tifinie J. Nelson, Kim David, Shawna Secker and Joanne Christensen. Spokane-based Sterling Financial Corp. owns Sterling Savings Bank, which has nine branches in the Puget Sound area.
