He directed operations at the Statler Hotel, which is operated by Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, and has eight years of experience with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts.

Rockey Hill & Knowlton

Communications company Rockey Hill & Knowlton named Marc DeLaunay senior vice president in its Seattle office. DeLaunay has 25 years of public relations and public affairs experience. He ran his own public affairs and business development consulting firm. Rockey Hill & Knowlton is based in New York.

National Foundation for Judicial Excellence

Sheryl J. Willert of the Seattle law firm Williams Kastner & Gibbs is a member of the board of directors of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence. The newly created educational group will focus on advocating for America's civil justice system. It will hold a symposium July 15-16 in Chicago at The Drake Hotel. The Fearey Group

Seattle public relations and public affairs firm The Fearey Group appointed Natalie Price president. Price will guide communication programs for clients and help manage the agency's direction. She was marketing director for Norris, Beggs & Simpson, a regional commercial real estate and mortgage banking firm.

King County

King County Executive Ron Sims appointed Sandeep Kaushik deputy communications director, a position that has been vacant for two years. Kaushik covered national and state politics for the Seattle alternative weekly The Stranger, and contributed to Time magazine and the Boston Globe.

Port Townsend-based mobile and wireless technology company Mobilisa recently named Mike Holden chief technical officer. Holden will manage network and software engineers. He has 25 years of experience as an officer in the U.S. Navy. His expertise is in nuclear engineering, submarine operations, and research and development.

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt added William "Skip" Fisher as a shareholder in its intellectual property practice group. He focuses on intellectual property counseling and litigation, as well as Chinese intellectual property law. Fisher will be in the Seattle office and provide counsel to clients worldwide.

Washington State University

Eric Spangenberg is dean of the College of Business and Economics at Washington State University. Spangenberg was associate dean for faculty affairs and research. Former dean Len Jessup was recently named president of the WSU Foundation and vice president for university development.

Washington State Paralegal Association

The Washington State Paralegal Association gave one of its founders, Fran Chapple, its first paralegal lifetime achievement award. Chapple has 30 years of experience in the profession, and is a judicial assistant/courtroom deputy in Yakima at the U.S. District Court. She has worked in estate planning and litigation in Seattle and Yakima.
