Karen A. Overstreet is the new chief bankruptcy judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court's Western Washington division. Overstreet succeeds Judge Philip H. Brandt, who will continue his term as a bankruptcy judge in the district. Overstreet started in the Seattle Clerk's Office of the U.S. Bankruptcy Court as a clerk and courtroom deputy, and has been this district's bankruptcy judge for 11 years.
Kent Municipal Court Judge Robert McSeveney will co-chair the State Board for Judicial Administration. He is the first municipal court judge to be elected to this position. McSeveney replaces King County Superior Court Judge Deborah Fleck, now the past member-chair of the board.
Bellevue-based Savers added Donald Gorski as chief financial officer. Gorski has more than 20 years of general and financial management experience, and was most recently president of Bellevue-based game company Wizkids.

The Sheraton Seattle Hotel & Towers recently named Cynthia Lathrop and Mario Busquets remote sales managers. Lathrop will be a national account director in Washington, D.C. Busquets will be based in New York and manage sales in the Northeast and Southeast. Busquets started as an intern at Sheraton Seattle.
Wells Fargo named Nancylee Oczkowski as Washington state human resources manager. Oczkowski has 20 years of human resources experience, including work as a manager at Washington Mutual, Milgard Manufacturing and IPC Pension Services in Seattle.
David C. Schneider is the new president of Washington Mutual's Home Loans Division. Effective Aug. 8, he will oversee the home loans business, including its $730 billion mortgage servicing portfolio. He will report to Washington Mutual President and Chief Operating Officer Steve Rotella, who was acting head of the business since March. Schneider was president and COO of St. Louis-based CitiMortgage.
The Washington State Supreme Court named legal aid attorney Jim Bamberger director of the new Office of Civil Legal Aid, which opens today. The office will provide administration and oversight for civil legal aid services in the state. It was created by the legislature following a court study showed most low-income residents get little or no help with serious legal problems regarding housing, family safety and employment.

Seattle-based SeaBright Insurance Holdings announced its subsidiary has a new regional office in Chicago. SeaBright Insurance Co. will offer policyholder services such as claims, loss control and underwriting. SeaBright appointed Marguerite Dixen senior resident vice president. She has 23 years of experience in the insurance industry and will see the company's operations in the Midwest.
Seattle firm Betts, Patterson & Mines added Adam R. Asher as an associate in its complex litigation group. Asher was a judicial extern for U.S. District Court Judge Thomas S. Zilly, a law clerk for Safeco Insurance Co., and an extern for the King County Prosecutor's Office.
Bainbridge Island-based American Marine Bank added Pam Traylor as a loan officer in the Silverdale Home Loan Center. Traylor has 24 years of mortgage banking experience and will focus on lending in Kitsap and Mason counties. American Marine also named Steve Touger as a vice president in commercial real estate lending. He has 25 years of experience and will be based on Bainbridge Island. He was with Rainer Bank and MetLife Capital.
