Dana Giove has been promoted to senior vice president and retail sales market manager at Viking Bank. Giove joined Viking Bank eight months ago as vice president and mortgage manager. Viking Bank has eight branches in the Puget Sound area.
Virginia Mason Medical Center hired new physicians in July and August. It hired Elizabeth Alley, David Auyong and Wyndam Strodtbeck as anesthesiologists. Mary Pinder-Schenck will work in hematology/oncology. Kris Kowdley is a hepatologist. Andrew Ross will work in gastroenterology. Gautam Velamoor is a cardiothoracic surgeon. Brandee Grooms is a hospitalist. Chia Wang will work in infectious disease. Kristin Nyweide joined Virginia Mason Sand Point Pediatrics. John Frederick joined Virginia Mason Medical Center in psychiatry. Craig Blackmore is a radiologist.
Neah Power Systems hired Daniel Rosen, Ph.D., as executive chairman, extending his role as chairman of the board of directors. Rosen is CEO of Dan Rosen & Associates, a business he founded in 2006. Neah Power Systems is a Bothell-based developer of fuel cells for military applications, notebook computers and portable electronic devices.

Law firm Stanislaw Ashbaugh in Seattle promoted Annie Lombroia to director of marketing and business development. She was the client services coordinator. Matt Runkel has been hired as an of counsel in the Corporate/Securities Law Group. Runkel has 15 years experience.
The Office of the Attorney General announced several new assistant attorneys generals. Kristie Barham is a Seattle addition to the Criminal Justice Division. She was a deputy prosecuting attorney in the Kitsap County Prosecuting Attorney's Office. Brendan Dunn is a Bellingham addition in the Regional Services Division. He worked for the Oregon Department of Justice's Appellate Division. Andrew Logerwell is an Olympia addition in the Torts Division. He worked with an insurance defense firm in Portland.
Seattle law firm Lasher Holzapfel Sperry & Ebberson hired Craig R. Aird as an attorney. Aird is fluent in German and spent two years in Frankfurt as a consultant on U.S. tax law and translating for international and German tax matters.

Seattle Arts & Lectures, a nonprofit literary organization, hired Linda Bowers as interim executive director. Bowers has 25 years of arts management and environmental policy making experience. She was interim managing director at Richard Hugo House.
The Port of Tacoma hired Tara Hazarian to the newly-created position of public affairs manager. Hazarian managed regional communications for EnviroIssues in Tacoma.
Lumera Corp., a nanotechnology company, announced the resignation of Thomas D. Mino, its chief executive officer. Mino will remain a consultant to the company. While the board searchers for a new CEO, Joseph J. Vallner, a current board member, will serve as president and interim chief executive officer.
