Clipper Navigation hired Linda Botts as senior sales manager for Destination Services Northwest. Botts has 25 years experience in the travel, tourism and hotel industry, the last 10 years in Seattle. Destination Services NW is a management company providing meeting planning and event services.
Redmond-based PlayNetwork, a provider of integrated media experiences for business, promoted David Brewster to senior vice president of marketing and creative services, and Sue Hoover to senior vice president of finance and administration.
Western Washington University hired Douglas C. Nord as director of the Center for International Studies. He also will be a professor of political science. Nord is a professor of political science at Wright State University in Ohio.

Holland America Line promoted Paul T. Allen to vice president of sales and Linda Springmann to vice president, Alaska marketing and sales. Allen has been with Holland for 20 years and most recently held the post Springmann is taking over. Springmann was director of North American and Caribbean marketing. She has 20 years of experience.
Seattle-based Fisher Communications hired Nancy J. Bruner as vice president of Fisher Interactive Networks to lead the interactive businesses. Bruner was with The Seattle Times Co. where she spent 10 years as vice president of new media. Fisher Communications owns and manages 19 television stations and nine radio stations in the Pacific Northwest.
The Herbfarm restaurant announced Keith M. Luce, executive chef of Cosentino Winery in Yountville, Calif., will be the next executive chef, effective in October. Luce replaces Jerry Traunfeld, who will leave the restaurant after 17 years to open a restaurant in Seattle. Luce has been a sous chef at The White House, chef at Spruce in Chicago and opened his own restaurant, Marenda, in San Francisco.

Firmani + Associates, a Seattle-based public relations and integrated marketing firm, hired Mark Briant as an account director. Briant has 30 years of communications industry experience, and was a journalist for 20 years before entering the public relations field. He was principal of The Briant Partnership, a Seattle-based public relations consulting firm.
Overlake Reproductive Health in Bellevue hired Dr. Khurram S. Rehman. He is certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a board eligible Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Specialist. Overlake Reproductive Health has offices in Bellevue and Kirkland, and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of female reproductive disorders and male infertility.
Dr. Mike Metke, president of Lake Washington Technical College in Kirkland, is moving to Tyler, Texas, to assume the presidency of Tyler Junior College in January. The Lake Washington board named Dr. Sharon McGavick interim president for a one-year term beginning January. McGavick has been president of Clover Park Technical College and will serve in an advisory role to Metke until January.
Ray's Boathouse Restaurant on Shilshole Bay in Seattle hired Molly Ringe as wine director for its restaurant, café and catering operation. She has worked as sommelier/wine director and manager for Barking Frog in Woodinville and Bin 36 in Chicago.
