Law firm Foster Pepper hired Jason Donovan as an associate in its Seattle office. He will work in the insurance coverage and litigation practice groups, and was recently an attorney with Jenner & Block in Chicago.
Seattle-based BizXchange, a business-to-business barter exchange, hired Paul Camner as director of trade operations and Craig McCallum as director of finance and operations. Camner has spent 16 years in the industry and recently worked at Troystar Media Solutions. McCallum has 25 years experience and has worked with Ernst & Young, LapLink and Spry.
The Association of Washington Business hired Jocelyn McCabe as director of communications. McCabe spent the last five years as director of communications for the Association of Washington School Principals. She replaces Richard Davis, who left AWB to coordinate the Washington Alliance for a Competitive Economy.
Spokane-based AmericanWest Bancorporation said Robert Daugherty has resigned as president and chief executive officer at the request of the board of directors. Patrick Rusnak, who has served as executive vice president and chief operating officer since September of 2006, has been appointed interim president and chief executive officer. Craig Eerkes, chairman, said the board had determined an executive management change was needed given current financial positioning. The company also announced it has accepted Rick Shamberger's decision to rescind his resignation as executive vice president and chief credit officer.

The Seattle office of Stoel Rives hired Joseph P. McCarthy as a partner in the Real Estate Practice Group. McCarthy has been practicing law for 22 years and was with Kantor, Taylor & McCarthy, where he was a founding shareholder.
Hitachi Consulting in Seattle hired Will O'Hara, Jake Roth and Whitney Stradley as senior consultants in the Customer and Channel Solutions Practice. O'Hara has 12 years experience in management. Roth was a senior analyst at one of the nation's largest wireless carriers. Stradley worked at Washington Mutual as a senior marketing specialist.
The Port of Tacoma hired Tri Howard as records manager. He is responsible for planning and managing the port's records management program, electronic records systems, staff records management training and other systems. Howard was state records manager with the Washington State Office of the Secretary of State.

Virginia Mason Medical Center hired six new physicians in a variety of specialties. In emergency medicine, it hired Neil Donner, Lori Starke and Julianna Yu. In gastroenterology, it hired Kayode Olowe. In hospitalist medicine, it hired Tonya Henninger. In pathology, it hired David Shneidman.
Daphne's Greek Cafe, a fast-casual Greek restaurant chain, is expanding its chain of restaurants to Washington with two new locations. It will open a Daphne's Greek Express in Westfield Southcenter and a Daphne's Greek Cafe at The Landing in Renton. The restaurant was founded in 1991 and has locations in Arizona, California, Colorado and Oregon.
King County Executive Ron Sims has appointed Doreen Marchione to serve a five-year term as a King County Housing Authority commissioner. Marchione replaces KCHA Commissioner Doreen Cato who has served on the board for two terms. Marchione recently retired after 15 years as president/CEO of Hopelink, a community action agency.
