The Seattle Hotel 1000 promoted Kini Parente to director of sales and marketing and Tawny Paperd to director of sales. Parente held sales positions with The Edgewater and The Sorrento Hotel.
The Seattle office of Stoel Rives added Irwin Treiger to the council in estate planning and administration group. Treiger was a partner at Dorsey & Whitney and attorney, partner, managing partner and chair at Bogle & Gates.
Davis Wright Tremaine hired Haeryung Shin to the counsel of business transactions and energy practices. Shin has 11 years experience representing venture capital investors and emerging technology and growth companies, with a focus on clean technology and renewable energy.
Encompass Insurance promoted Ellen Goforth to regional sales director in the Northwest region. Goforth was a regional sales manager for the Encompass northwest region, where she managed multi-brand field sales teams.
M. Mark Mayuga joins the city of Shoreline as economic development program manager. He has worked for 38 years in the corporate and public sectors, and for 20 years owned an advertising and marketing agency in Long Beach, Calif. Mayuga was executive director of the Chamber of Commerce in Fontana, Calif., and then became that city's redevelopment and special projects manager.

The Kent Events Center hired Joshua Holmes as director of operations, Beth Sylves as director of marketing and Erika Smith as HR and administrative assistant. Holmes was director of event services for the Save Mart Center. Sylves was director of marketing for the Emerald Queen Casino.
The Seattle office of K&L Gates hired Allen Baden as a partner in the firm's Intellectual Property Practice. Baden joins K&L Gates from the Silicon Valley office of Kenyon & Kenyon.
Seattle-based Rainier Industries, a manufacturer of fabric and display products, announced a new location in Seattle. The new building will be 140,000 square feet. It is located at 18375 Olympic Ave. S., Tukwila.
The Seattle office of QL2, a real-time market intelligence provider, hired Russ Aldrich as CEO. Aldrich has 35 years of experience, both as an executive in the software industry and as a managing director in venture capital firms.
The University of Washington Bothell hired Kelly Snyder as director of government community relations. Snyder has 15 years experience in planning and public affairs. She was assistant director for the Washington State Department of Community, Trade and Economic Development.
