The Department of Energy named Cheryl Cejka, technology commercialization director at Pacific Northwest National Laboratory, to become executive board chair of the Technology Transfer Working Group. The group is creating a policy framework to streamline technology transfer activities such as licensing at all DOE national laboratories. Cejka has led PNNL's portfolio development and investment, intellectual property management and technology commercialization activities for eight years.
Clothier & Head, a Seattle-based public accounting firm, promoted Susan Bettis to accounting and auditing manager. Bettis has been a member of the firm since 2001.

The Seattle intellectual property law firm Lee & Hayes added three patent attorneys to its Seattle office. They are Rob Peck, Brett Schlameus and Don Min. Peck is a patent attorney and software developer who is a former Web applications programmer. Schlameus worked at Dorsey & Whitney. Min worked at Belasco Jacobs & Townsley in Los Angeles.
Seattle-based SafeWorks promoted Michael Moritz to vice president of supply chain. He has worked at the company since 2006. SafeWorks is involved in manufacturing and distributing powered access and safety solutions for the construction, restoration, maintenance and alternative energy industries.
The Select Family of Staffing Companies is changing the name of its offices in Tukwila, Bellevue and Everett from Remedy Intelligent Staffing to Select Staffing. In addition, the former Remedy branch servicing downtown Seattle has converted to RemX Financial Staffing, specializing in the placement of accounting and financial professionals.

Steven Kirtland has been elected to serve as the hospital chief of staff at Virginia Mason Medical Center and will be chief administrative officer for the medical staff. Previously, Kirtland served as medical director of the thoracic oncology program and director of bronchoscopy services. He takes over from Fred Govier, whose three-year term concludes this month.
Pacific Crest Savings Bank promoted Wayne Bull to chief financial officer. Bull joined Pacific Crest in 1998.
Woodland Park Zoo said Lancer Hospitality of Minneapolis was selected as the zoo's new food concessionaire, responsible for food service as well as catering at private zoo events. Lancer agreed to a 10-year contract, marking the first change in food vendors at the zoo in 15 years. Lancer plans to buy more local products and renovate the food service space.
