Clothier & Head

Clothier & Head, a Seattle-based public accounting firm, announced a series of promotions. Aries Lazaro and Erin Nakasone are accounting and auditing senior accountants, and Jamie Randal is a tax senior accountant. Lazaro, Nakasone and Randal joined the firm in January of 2007. Brook Becker, Josh Breiling, Winter Liang, Nicole Myers, David Roer and Peter Sayah are staff II accountants. Breiling, Liang, Myers, Roer and Sayah joined the firm in January of 2008; Becker followed in August 2008.

Bellevue-based Aero Law Group, an aviation law practice, hired Cheryl Kringle as an attorney. Kringle has 10 years experience in the aviation industry, six as an attorney. She recently worked at Tousley Brain Stephens.

Ombrella

Seattle-based Ombrella, a business and technology consulting firm, has received certification as a Women Business Enterprise from the Women's Business Enterprise National Council. The certification will enable Ombrella to do business with a range of new clients. The council is a national third-party certifier of women's business enterprises in the private sector.

Law firm Garvey Schubert Barer hired Richard Siefert as an owner in the Seattle office. Siefert practices in the area of antitrust and litigation with a focus in intellectual property, commercial and class action matters. He has 30 years of experience.

Concordia Coffee Systems

Bellevue-based Concordia Coffee Systems, an international self-serve and automated espresso system company, hired Denise Evert as vice president of business development. Evert has 20 years experience in the specialty coffee business and was recently worked with Franke Coffee Systems.

Forsberg & Umlauf

Seattle-based Forsberg & Umlauf said Melissa Habeck has become a shareholder of the law firm. Habeck's practice area focuses on general civil defense litigation with an emphasis on asbestos tort litigation. Roy Umlauf was awarded the Jack P. Scholfield Outstanding Achievement Award by the Washington Defense Trial Lawyers for loyalty, leadership and commitment to the civil defense trial bar.

Department of Social and Health Services

Gov. Chris Gregoire named Stan Marshburn as interim leader of the Washington State Department of Social and Health Services. Marshburn is the agency's chief financial officer. Current DSHS Secretary Robin Arnold-Williams starts her new job leading Gregoire's policy office this month.

Weyerhaeuser

Weyerhaeuser Co. announced its board of directors elected Charles Williamson to become non-executive chairman following the planned retirement of Steven Rogel on April 15. Williamson joined Weyerhaeuser's board in 2004, serving as the lead director since 2006. He currently chairs the executive committee and serves on the compensation and finance committees. He was previously executive vice president of Chevron Texaco Corp.

Direct Buying Service

Seattle-based Direct Buying Service, an appliance store, is changing its name to Metropolitan Appliance. The store began in 1950 and is located three blocks south of Safeco Field on First Avenue South and South Holgate.
