Providence Hospice

Providence Hospice in Seattle hired Peg Rutchik as executive director. Rutchik served as co-interim executive director of Providence for most of 2008 and has worked with the company for 21 years.

Davis Wright Tremaine

Davis Wright Tremaine hired Louisa Barash. Barash is a technology lawyer with 20 years of experience and was a former partner with Heller Ehrman.

DNA Seattle

DNA Seattle, an independent brand planning and marketing communications company, hired Graham Gill to a newly created position of director of interactive. Gill has 19 years experience and has worked at MarchFirst, POP and Ascentium.

Seattle Public Schools

Seattle Public Schools hired Bill Martin as senior manager, capital projects. Martin will oversee an annual capital budget of almost $230 million. He has 17 years of experience managing large capital projects and has been deputy division director for capital projects and roadway structures for the Seattle Department of Transportation since 2003.

Starbucks

Starbucks Corp. announced John Culver, senior vice president and president, Starbucks Coffee Asia Pacific will succeed Gerardo Lopez, executive vice president and president, Global Consumer Products, Foodservice and Seattle's Best Coffee. Culver has worked for Starbucks since 2002.

Seattle Community Colleges

Seattle Community Colleges hired Kurt Buttleman as chief financial officer. Buttleman has 10 years of experience in the Seattle District and has served as vice president for administrative services at South Seattle Community College since 2003. Seattle Community Colleges is the largest community college district in the state, with a combined annual operating and capital budget of more than $200 million.

Carney Badley Spellman

Law firm Carney Badley Spellman hired Robert Weber as of counsel. Weber practices in real estate, business and corporation transactions.

Zoopa

Seattle-based Zoopa, a social advertising company, announced six new Northwest brands it will work with to develop ad campaigns. They include Jones Soda, Earth Class Mail, Grist and Wishpot. Zoopa sponsors ad competitions. It has 30,000 “community members” who create video, ads or other concepts and vie for cash prizes. Winners are chosen by community vote, Zooppa's staff and the client, who can choose to launch a campaign using any of the ads.

AAA Washington

AAA Washington, based in Bellevue, hired Sotteria Wetsch as a membership accounting manager. Wetsch has worked in the accounting field for 15 years and recently worked at Microsoft as a contracted project coordinator.

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center

Northwest Hospital & Medical Center hired Lynn Keenan, Brian McInnes and Kim Wheeling as new physicians. Keenan is a specialist in pulmonary disease, critical care internal medicine and sleep medicine and is joining Northwest Respiratory Associates. McInnes is a podiatric surgeon and is joining The Sports Medicine Clinic. Wheeling is a specialist in internal medicine and is joining Olympic Medical Center.
