Tacoma-based Columbia Bank hired Randy Casto as senior vice president and leader of the Spokane private banking team. Casto started his banking career as a teller at Seafirst in 1989 and has 23 years of banking experience with Bank of America, Wells Fargo and Washington Trust Bank. Casto was relationship manager for private banking with Washington Trust Bank in Spokane. Columbia State Bank is a full-service commercial bank.

Singapore-based Pan Pacific hired Sam Johnson as general manager in the Seattle hotel. Johnson has 30 years of hospitality experience and recently served as general manager of The Sorrento. Pan Pacific Hotels and Resorts has 20 hotels, resorts and suites across Asia, North America and Oceania.
Seattle-based Lighter Capital said company founder Andy Sack has become executive chairman and BJ Lackland is CEO. Lackland served as CFO and board member for Power Efficiency Corp. Lighter Capital provides companies financing in return for a percentage of their revenue and has provided $2.3 million to 16 companies since 2010.

Woodcock Washburn hired Timothy Casey to work at the intellectual property law firm as partner in its Seattle office. Casey co-founded and ran the IP operations of SilverSky, a business development firm, and was an in-house manager with Apple Computer, Silicon Graphics, and MCI. Woodcock Washburn is a national law firm.
Seattle-based Yapta named James Filsinger as the new CEO. Filsinger is a travel industry executive with experience at global startups and Fortune 500 companies. He was CEO of EZYield.com. Yapta assists in travel planning and tracking airfares.
Adams & Associates, an employment agency, has a new brand name: SOS Employment Group. Utah-based SOS Employment Group matches people with jobs, and has offices in the United States and Canada.

Bellevue-based GA Creative hired Joe Bowman as business development director, and Kemie Nanstad as marketing coordinator and social media specialist. Bowman has 12 years of business development experience in finance, health care, nonprofit and technology; Nanstad worked for a children's product manufacturer, managing social media campaigns. GA Creative is a branding and advertising agency.
Seattle-based Fearey Group promoted Drew Symonds to senior account executive. Symonds has been with The Fearey Group since 2010. He created a “social media backpack” with satellite and solar technology for Swedish Medical Center's organ donation awareness climb on Mount Rainier, and climbed with surgeons to broadcast live from Mount Rainier. Feary said the campaign reached more than 600,000 people. Fearey is a public relations and public affairs firm.
Seattle Public Schools superintendent Jose Banda, appointed Kim Whitworth and Carmela Dellino as executive directors. Whitworth has been principal at Eckstein Middle School since 2007 and will be director for schools in the Northeast region. Dellino has been principal at Roxhill since 2008 and will be director for West Seattle. Both appointments begin in August.
