St. Louis-based Wells Fargo Advisors hired Mark Trafford as complex manager for the Kirkland and Issaquah offices. Trafford has 18 years of experience in the brokerage business and previously served as branch manager for Morgan Stanley Smith Barney. Wells Fargo Advisors is a national brokerage firm.
Seattle-based Columbia Hospitality has a new agreement with Bremerton to manage Gold Mountain Golf Club effective Jan. 1, 2013. This is Columbia's fifth management acquisition in a year. Columbia Hospitality is a management and consulting company specializing in conference centers, boutique hotels and inns.
Rich Koenig is the new associate dean and director of Washington State University Extension. Koenig is former chair of the WSU department of crop and soil sciences. WSU Extension includes outreach programs in agriculture, natural resources, community and economic development, and youth and family.

Seattle-based law firm Cairncorss & Hemplemann hired Jason Smith and David Herrman as of counsel and Victoria Stephanova as an associate. Smith worked at Lane Powell's Portland office, Herrman served as partner at Bucklin Evens and Stephanova spent the summer of 2011 at the firm before her final year of law school.
The Seattle Arts Commission appointed Terri Hiroshima and Philmon Haile as new members. Hiroshima is director of marketing and external relations at Crosscut Public Media and has worked for 18 years in the arts for Seattle Theatre Group, Empty Space Theatre and One Reel. Haile was born in Sudan and is now studying international studies and anthropology at the University of Washington. The commission members are appointed by the mayor and city council.
The Metropolitan King County Council appointed David Chapman as director of the Office of Public Defense, the county agency responsible for legal services for indigent defendants.

The Association of Washington Business named officers for 2012-2013: Doug Bayne is board chair, Mel Russell is vice chair and Lisa Janicki is secretary-treasurer. Tom Hosea will continue as immediate past chair. The association has more than 8,000 members representing 700,000 employees.
The Seattle law firm Helsell Fetterman has joined LawPact, an association of business law firms around the world. As the 55th member of the organization, Helsell Fetterman joins the group of firms in the U.S. and abroad.
Resort at The Mountain in Welches, Ore., hired Cari Shafer as director of food and beverage; Camille Greenslade as director of sales; Leyla Amrani as catering and conference manager; and promoted Becca Kolibaba as director of catering and conference services. The resort is a golf, spa and meeting destination.
