Bellevue-based Clark Nuber promoted Jennifer Valente to audit and assurance manager. Clark Nuber is a CPA and consulting firm.


Kirkland-based Friends of Youth added Steve Olsen and Greg Allen as new board members, replacing Phil Crocker, who served more than six years, and John Benson, who completed a two-year board term in June. Olsen is retired and a community volunteer; Allen is vice president of Evergreen Medical Group at Evergreen Health. Friends of Youth programs focus on troubled and at-risk youth and young adults.
CEO Rita Brogan of Seattle-based communications agency PRR, won the Port of Seattle's 3rd Annual Small Business Champion Award. Brogan worked as a facilitator between the port and local concessionaires, architects and contractors to examine the design and construction of new concessions at Sea-Tac Airport.

Cairncross & Hempelmann attorney Matt Hanna has been named the chair of the Pike Place Market Preservation & Development Authority (PDA) Council. Hanna was chair of the finance committee, and a member of the executive committee of the PDA Council, succeeding James Savitt as chair of the PDA Council as of July 1. The PDA is a non-profit, public corporation that manages the nine-acre Market Historic District.


Portland-based law firm Ater Wynne re-elected Brenda L. Meltebeke as chair for the Seattle, Portland and Menlo Park, CA. locations, and elected Douglas D. Morris as managing partner, succeeding Michael W. Shackelford who has been managing partner since 2001.
Spokane-based Sterling Bank promoted Alan Roberts to eastern Washington/Idaho market president. Roberts joined Sterling in 2006 as the eastern regional executive for private banking and was later promoted to commercial banking regional director. Before joining Sterling, he held senior management positions with Security Pacific Bank, which merged with Bank of America.

Comcast named Matthew Fassnacht vice president of Comcast Business for the Washington region. Fassnacht worked for Cox Business in Las Vegas and for CenturyLink. Comcast provides advanced communication solutions.
Seattle-based Frause hired Steffanie Mortera and Alisa Song as assistant account executives in the Seattle office. Mortera and Song were interns at Frause. Frause is a communications firm offering public relations, public affairs, marketing, advertising, research and design.
Tacoma-based Rescue Mission named Brian Sonntag interim executive director. He replaces David Curry, who was CEO for nine years and will be joining Open Doors USA in California as CEO in August. Sonntag was Washington state auditor before he joined Rescue Mission as CFO in February. Rescue Mission provides meals and shelter to displaced men, women and children.
