Port of Everett employee Maija Lampinen won the Certified Professional Public Buyer credential from the Universal Procurement Certification Council. Lampinen is the port's procurement and contracts administrator. The certification goes to people in public procurement.

GSC Logistics

Oakland, Calif.-based GSC Logistics appointed Laura Root as director of business development for the Pacific Northwest. Root worked for NYK Lines and was responsible for business development at Bridge Terminal Transport for the Northwest and Northern California. GSC Logistics is a third party logistics services provider.

Everett-based SNBL USA, which does primate research, appointed Dr. Mark Walker as East Coast field technical director. Walker has more than 20 years of contract research experience and worked for Walker Consulting Services and Frontier BioSciences.

Bellevue-based Symetra named Michael Roscoe senior vice president of individual life strategy and product innovation in the Farmington, Conn. office. Roscoe was vice president of life product strategy at Prudential. Symetra is a diversified financial services company.

Seattle-based HomeStreet Bank opened a new branch on Capitol Hill, located at 700 Broadway East. HomeStreet Bank is a full-service consumer and business bank with offices in Washington, Idaho, Hawaii and California.

Portland-based marketing firm Leopold Ketel promoted Stephanie Howe to account manager and hired Renee Wilkinson as a strategist. Howe started at Leopold Ketel as an account coordinator in 2012; Wilkinson worked for five years as a media supervisor for the firm before leaving to earn a master's degree in landscape architecture.

Seattle-based Rivet & Sway appointed Sarah Bryar, the company's former vice president to CEO. Additionally, co-founder, John Lusk, who has been the company's CEO since it was founded in 2011, will assume the role of chief marketing officer and will also continue to serve as a member of the board of directors. Rivet & Sway is an eyewear brand and online shopping boutique focused exclusively on women's prescription glasses.
