Seattle Art Museum

Engineer

Manish Engineer joined Seattle Art Museum as its first chief technology officer. Engineer was project director in the membership and development departments at The Museum of Modern Art. He also was IT associate director of applications at MoMA, and developed apps and e-books at Penguin Random House.

Metis

Exvere, a Seattle-based mergers and acquisitions firm, has launched Metis, a mergers and acquisitions advisory firm specializing in the Northwest hospitality, wine and alcoholic beverage industries. The Metis team is led by managing partner Erik McLaughlin, managing director Andy Steinman, associate Philippe Michel and analyst Jessica Leung. Metis has closed deals for Walla Walla Vintners, Firesteed Winery and Tamarack Cellars. It has offices in Seattle, Walla Walla and the Willamette Valley.

Columbia Bank

University of Washington Tacoma awarded the 2018 Corporate Gold Star Award to Columbia Bank for supporting UW Tacoma. The bank has contributed to funding and scholarships, and helped with construction of William W. Philip Hall, a major gathering spot on campus.

Kolb

Tacoma advertising and communications firm JayRay hired Leigh Kolb as assistant advisor. Kolb has a background in nonprofit marketing, travel and photography. She has created content and marketing strategies for Adaptive Sports Center and Oh Be Joyful Church in Colorado.

Erickson

Wideman

Portland-based aerospace manufacturer and aerial services company Erickson Inc. hired Stephen Wideman as vice president and CFO, and Micheal Hausinger as corporate controller. Wideman was vice president of finance and corporate treasurer at Flir Systems. He has experience in corporate financial management, financial planning, investor relations, financial risk management and fixed-income asset management. Hausinger, a CPA, was executive director of finance with Farouk Systems. He has experience in accounting and finance, and spent seven years in defense and aerospace.

Seattle Aquarium

Seattle Aquarium presented its first Lifetime Achievement Award to Dr. Sylvia A. Earle, the Conservation Research Award to Dr. Megan N. Dethier and the Scott S. Patrick Inspirational Award to George Willoughby. Earle is chair of Deep Ocean Exploration and Research, and an explorer-in-residence at National Geographic Society. Dethier is a research professor in the biology department at the University of Washington who is in full-time residence at the Friday Harbor Laboratories. Willoughby is a longtime aquarium board member.

Phillips Burgess

Hatch

Lacey Hatch joined the Olympia-Tacoma law firm of Phillips Burgess, where she is focusing on municipal law, land use, and environmental law and litigation. Hatch spent 10 years as senior assistant city attorney and senior legal planner at the city of Bellevue. Prior to that, she was city attorney for Roslyn and Algona, and assistant city attorney at DuPont and Tukwila.

Washington STEM

Washington STEM added Dr. Jenee Myers Twitchell as impact director and Deidre McCormack Martin as donor relations officer. Twitchell is leading all research, evaluation and data analytics activities. She has 12 years of experience with research projects that address equity gaps in education, and co-founded the University of Washington Dream Project. Martin has 17 years of nonprofit fundraising, leadership, program development and board management experience. She most recently was interim executive director for the Washington Association for Infant Mental Health.
