Anthony Paino was named general manager of Fairwood Golf & Country Club in Renton. Paino has more than 10 years of private club management, marketing and operations experience. He was general manager of Columbia Tower Club in Seattle and clubhouse manager at Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, Maryland. Fairwood is managed by Troon Prive.

Warren Brown, president of North Seattle College, was selected for a Fulbright scholarship that pairs U.S. and Russian community college leaders for a two-week exchange of knowledge in Russia. Brown is scheduled to visit Kazan, Cheboksary and Moscow starting Saturday. The program is designed to strengthen international cooperation, and focuses on the role of community colleges in higher education and the local community.
Seattle-based agricultural biotechnology company Phytelligence added Peter Viss as vice president of global sales for nuts, hops and new crops. Viss has experience with tissue culture strategy, research and variety development with organizations such as Plant Genetics, Plant Research Laboratory, Brooding Bee and Honey Co., Dave Wilson Nursery and High Desert Ag.

The Washington Wine Industry Foundation appointed Corina Davis, Joe Hattrup, Jordon McEntire and JJ Williams to its board of directors. Davis is senior vice president and wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith. Hattrup is a third-generation farmer with 165 acres of wine grapes in two Yakima Valley vineyards. McEntire oversees operations, business planning and marketing at Bleyhl Co-op, which serves farmers. Williams is sales manager at Kiona Vineyards and Winery. Two board members retired: Bill Shibley of Harvest Fresh Produce and Tom Waliser of Beresan Winery.
Kirkland-based Children's Eye Care was bought by Mednax of Sunrise, Florida. Children's is a private pediatric ophthalmology practice employing two ophthalmologists, one optometrist and eight full-time non-clinical associates. Krista Heidar is medical director for the practice. Mednax is a national health solutions company.

Sudip Chakrabarti joined Madrona Venture Group in Seattle as a partner on the investment team, where he is helping entrepreneurs build companies. Chakrabarti has experience investing in enterprise and cloud-based companies, and has founded startups. He was a venture capitalist at Lightspeed Venture Partners and Andreessen Horowitz in Silicon Valley. Madrona invests in early-stage tech companies in the Pacific Northwest.
Lynnwood-based Pacific Crest Savings Bank appointed Dave Griffith to its board of directors. Over his 30-year career, Griffith worked in risk management, mortgage banking, sales, trading and insurance at several financial institutions. He was chief market risk officer for SunTrust Mortgage before retiring late last year. Pacific Crest focuses on real estate lending.

Everett-based Funko, a pop culture consumer products company, appointed Molly Hartney chief marketing officer and senior vice president of e-commerce. Hartney has more than 12 years of marketing and leadership experience, most recently as vice president of marketing and merchandising for The Mine, an online home furnishings store owned by Lowe's.
Chief Seattle Club, a human services agency, won the inaugural Equity Award from Seattle Community Law Center. The award recognizes organizations with a strong commitment to racial and economic justice. Chief Seattle Club was cited for longstanding service to Seattle's Native American community.
Justin Camarata was appointed interim councilmember for District 2 by the Tacoma City Council. Camarata will serve until Robert Thoms resumes his duties as councilmember, or until Dec. 31, whichever occurs first. Thoms is on a six-month tour-of-duty in Afghanistan with the U.S. Navy.
