City of Redmond

Redmond Mayor John Marchione announced Maxine Whattam is the city's new COO and Erika Vandenbrande is the new planning director. Whattam started with the city in 2016 as Parks & Recreation director and recently was interim public works director. She was a manager for Kennewick for 24 years. Vandenbrande has been with the city for more than 17 years, serving as transportation demand management program manager, economic development manager and deputy administrator.

Lane Powell

Joe Woods joined law firm Lane Powell as COO in the Seattle office, where he will help develop the strategic plan and growth strategy. Woods was senior practice group business manager at Perkins Coie. Lane Powell also has offices in Anchorage, Portland and London.

Employment Security Department

Suzan “Suzi” LeVine is the new commissioner at the state Employment Security Department. LeVine was U.S. ambassador to Switzerland and Liechtenstein, a member of Gov. Jay Inslee's Career Connect Washington Task Force, communications director at Microsoft, and vice president of sales and marketing in luxury travel at Expedia.

Heritage Financial

Heritage Bank president and COO Jeff Deuel was promoted to CEO, and chief lending officer Bryan McDonald was promoted to COO. Deuel replaces Brian Vance, who will continue as CEO of Heritage Financial Corp., the bank's parent, until his retirement in July 2019. Deuel also was named president of Heritage Financial. McDonald joined Heritage Bank after it merged with Whidbey Island Bank, where he was president. Olympia-based Heritage operates 65 branches between Bellingham and Portland.

Martin

Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce named Dominick Martin vice president of external relations, leading policy and government relations activities. Martin has over a decade of experience as director and strategic advisor at EMC Research in Seattle. Prior to that, he worked in politics in California's Central Valley.

Greater Seattle Partners

Greater Seattle Partners named Brian P. McGowan as CEO. McGowan is president and CEO of Atlanta BeltLine, an economic development and transportation initiative in Atlanta. He will start in August, when GSP launches as a public-private partnership advancing economic growth and competitiveness for the Puget Sound region.

Pacific Software Publishing

Bellevue-based Pacific Software Publishing bought web hosting and design company YourHost of Fountain Valley, California. The acquisition is PSP's seventh in 13 years. PSP offers web hosting, web design, email and marketing.

Runger

Cindy Runger, a local attorney and investment advisor, will serve as president over the next year for Rotary Club of Seattle. Runger takes over Wednesday for Mark Wright.

Ogletree Deakins

Cole

Jaime Cole joined Ogletree Deakins' Seattle office as of counsel, focusing on employment law. Cole was of counsel and COO at Brown & Sterling in Fall City, and in-house counsel for Regis Corp. in Minneapolis.

Greyhound Dungeness Line

Greyhound is now operating the Dungeness Line bus route from Seattle to Port Angeles, including stops in Edmonds, Kingston, Port Townsend and Sequim. The route was operated by Olympic Bus Lines. It is part of Travel Washington, an intercity bus program managed by the Washington State Department of Transportation.
