Harts Plumbers, Electricians and HVAC Technicians has opened a new location in Tukwila. The Tukwila branch will offer comprehensive coverage along the Maple Valley Highway corridor. This is the company's fourth location, and will offer complete plumbing and sewer service as well as electrical. “We're excited to announce this new branch, which will allow us to serve more communities in our area,” said Jason Fournier, president of Harts. “Expanding east helps us connect our existing service areas to ensure more efficient delivery of the essential services we provide, including our new hydronic heating service.” Harts' technicians and support staff provide environmentally friendly service on a full range of plumbing, electrical and HVAC solutions. The company has been named to the Inc. 5000 list of the fastest-growing private companies in the United States four times. Harts Plumbers, Electricians and HVAC Technicians provides plumbing services, electrical services, and heating and cooling services throughout the greater Seattle, Tacoma and now Tukwila areas. The company was founded in Tacoma in 2013 by co-owners Richard Hart and Dan Hartsough.
Sinclair Broadcast Group named Dean Ditmer vice president/general manager of KATU and KUNP in Portland. Ditmer was previously president/general manager at KPNX, KMSB and KTTU in Tucson. He has held several executive leadership positions across the broadcast industry, including director of sales at KUSA in Denver, general manager of Sinclair's WKEF and WRGT in Dayton, Ohio, general manager at Metro Networks in Minneapolis, director of sales at WCCO in Minneapolis, local sales manager at KPIX in San Francisco, and sales manager at WNCN in Raleigh. Ditmer has recently served on several public and non-profit boards, including the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University, the Arizona Broadcasters Association, and the Arizona Interscholastic Association Advisory Board. He holds a bachelor's degree in communications from Bowling Green State University. Sinclair owns, operates and/or provides services to 185 television stations in 86 markets.
Seattle-based Lighthouse, a provider of technology-enabled eDiscovery, compliance, and information governance services, announced that Fernando Delgado has been promoted to senior director of AI & Analytics. As the company's AI product portfolio grows, Delgado, who has 19 years of experience developing analytics- & AI-based alternatives and accelerators for document review, will take a leadership role in developing products that leverage predictive and generative AI. Delgado has nearly 20 years of experience in the legal tech field and recently earned a Ph.D. in Information Science from Cornell University, where his dissertation studied what participatory design processes look like and how they can be structured for meaningful engagement with domain experts.

Following a nationwide search, Visit Seattle announced that veteran Seattle marketing executive Stephanie Byington will be its next senior vice president and chief marketing officer. For over two decades, Byington has led marketing for several Seattle area brands including Slalom, Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, TCS World Travel, Nordstrom, and Starbucks. At Visit Seattle, Byington will oversee all marketing and brand development initiatives to promote tourism to the city across travel segments, including meetings and conventions, leisure, transient, and international markets. Byington has extensive experience in the travel and tourism space, having served as vice president of marketing and product development at tour operator TCS World Travel, as well as director of global advertising and sponsorships for Continental Airlines. At TCS World Travel, she won the Global Leadership Award from Travelopia (its parent company) in 2019. Byington also has broad expertise in the brand and experiential marketing spaces. In her previous role as senior director of marketing at consulting firm Slalom, she developed Slalom's first-ever global brand marketing campaign. Before Slalom, she was director of product innovation at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates. Byington replaces Visit Seattle's former CMO and SVP Ali Daniels, who was with the organization for over 12 years and now serves as SVP marketing for Seattle Kraken.


Northwest Kidney Centers, the nation's oldest nonprofit dialysis provider with 20 clinics in King, Pierce, Snohomish and Clallam counties, has named Anthony Dorsch and Karissa Marker to its board of trustees. Dorsch has 30 years of experience as a healthcare administrator with a strong background in leadership, strategic planning, and healthcare management. He has worked in various roles including executive director at UW Physicians and VP of operational finance at Providence Health & Services. Dorsch has served on Northwest Kidney Centers' Finance, Audit & Investment Committee for nearly 10 years. Marker is a retired audit partner of KPMG, with more than 23 years of experience specializing in providing audit and accounting services to a variety of industries, including healthcare, education, and the public sector. Marker currently serves on several non-profit boards, including the Audit Advisory Committee of the University of Washington and the Audit, Finance, and Compliance Committee of EvergreenHealth. She is the treasurer of the Seattle Aquarium Board. They join 10 others on the volunteer board, made up of medical, business, civic and patient leaders who help govern the 62-year-old non-profit. Northwest Kidney Centers was founded in Seattle in 1962.

Community Health Plan of Washington (CHPW), a not-for-profit insurance carrier offering Apple Health (Medicaid), Medicare Advantage, and Individual & Family Plans on the health exchange, hired Stuart Battersby as chief financial officer. As a member of CHPW's Executive Leadership Team, Battersby will collaborate on the strategic goals and initiatives for CHPW, and its parent company Community Health Network of Washington, overseeing all budgetary and fiscal responsibilities. Battersby is a CPA with more than 15 years of experience in many health care settings, including physician groups, health care startups, and a national Medicaid health plan. In the CFO role, Battersby will also oversee all forecasting and budgeting functions, accounting, population analytics and actuarial activities, among other responsibilities. Battersby succeeds Stacy Kessel, who retired after 17 years with CHPW. Battersby served as COO and CFO for Amerigroup Washington, Anthem and ended his tenure as president and CEO of their Medicaid Health Plan in 2019. Battersby most recently served as CFO for Firefly Health, a virtual advanced primary care services company, where he led all financial responsibilities as well as product strategy and development. Prior to that, he was CFO at Sidecar Health. Battersby holds a CPA Certification in Washington, and received his MBA from the University of Denver.

Kestra Medical Technologies, a privately held wearable medical device and digital healthcare company, named Raymond Cohen to the board of directors as a new independent board director. Cohen is an accredited public company director with more than 40 years of life sciences industry experience. He currently serves as CEO and board member at Irvine, CA-based Axonics, a global medtech company Cohen cofounded in late 2013 and took public in October 2018. Earlier this year, Axonics agreed to be acquired by Boston Scientific for $3.7 billion. Cohen also serves as an independent director of SoniVie, a clinical-stage company developing a device treatment for hypertension and BiVACOR, a clinical-stage company developing a Total Artificial Heart. Cohen received the 2024 MedTech MVP Award and was also named Businessperson of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal. In 2021, Cohen received a lifetime achievement award from SoCal Bio for his four decades of work in medical technology. In 2020, Cohen was named Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young for the Southwest U.S.

Molina Healthcare of Washington recently presented $5,000 to Unity Care Northwest to help ensure access to quality medical, dental, mental and behavioral health care for 24,000 Whatcom County residents, primarily those experiencing financial hardships. Jay Fathi is plan president of Molina Healthcare of Washington. Funds will support programs including: Hand Up for Health, for items and services including blood pressure monitors or compression socks; Mobile Dental, for dental exams and appointment scheduling for students in Whatcom County schools; Extend A Hand, to cover the cost of prescriptions; a library of online yoga and QigGong classes, plus a Dietitian Kitchen video series for healthy meal options; and The Way Station, for health and hygiene services to unhoused community members. Molina Healthcare of Washington has been providing government-funded health care for over 20 years. Unity Care NW is a local, non-profit health care provider that is part of a national network of community health centers.
Linda Nguyen, the youngest member of the Nguyen family, is now chef and general manager at Ba Sa Restaurant. She joins sibling chefs Trinh and Thai, who are now spending the majority of their time at Ramie, their new restaurant in Seattle's Capitol Hill neighborhood. Nguyen started working at Ba Sa in 2021. She begin in the dish pit, and eventually worked every station in the kitchen. She also trained in front of house operation procedures in preparation for taking on the general manager duties. Opened in September of 2019, Ba Sa is located on Bainbridge Island, serving modern Vietnamese food that showcases local products found in the Pacific Northwest.
The Redmond Police Department recently renewed its Certified Autism Center designation certification, continuing efforts to provide officers with knowledge and training to assist and communicate with autistic and sensory-sensitive community members. In 2022, the department became the first in Washington to earn the certification, which was awarded by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards. Additionally, the Redmond Police Department launched a Take Me Home program in June for families with loved ones who have cognitive or developmental disabilities in case they go missing or experience an emergency. The program is a registry of vulnerable individuals to assist first responders in reuniting people with disabilities with their caregivers.
