Seattle Schools restoring the past

  • District to renovate five of its oldest and most prominent schools.

    The restoration of John Stanford International School, Latona campus, was completed last year and designed by Bassetti Architects.

    In early 1900’s America, when many of the district’s older schools were built, as many as 90 percent of Americans lived in homes without electricity. Child labor was still legal, and most Americans lived in rural areas.
