Nuprecon tackles Pentagon project

    Nuprecon Inc. is demolishing a bus loop canopy at the Pentagon as part of a renovation project to improve security for the nation's military headquarters by moving the bus system further from the building.

    Nuprecon, the Snoqualmie-based demolition company that has gutted a number of local landmarks, is now ripping out parts of an East Coast building -- the Pentagon.

    The sub-contracting work is part of a 20-year, $1.2 billion, security-enhancing renovation project that began before Sept. 11. But heightened security following the terrorist attack has made Nuprecon's work on the project tougher.
