    Providence Everett Medical Center’s $56 million Women & Children’s Pavilion was built with the latest in seismic design techniques, using steel truss frames to stabilize the structure.

    Emergency plans for responding to terrorist attacks, workplace violence and earthquakes are getting more attention since the World Trade Center tragedy, the Nisqually earthquake and shooting incidents in office buildings, a slate of experts told a Bellingham conference earlier this month.
