Construction Industry Spotlight -- Economist: jobs drive local construction

    A stronger economy in the Pacific Northwest is contributing to growth in many areas of the construction industry, but real growth will be driven by employment increases, which are still sluggish in Washington state.

    That was the assessment of U.S. Bank economist John Mitchell earlier this month when he addressed more than 100 members of the Northwest Construction Consumer Council at its annual meeting in Seattle.
