John Korsmo Construction has moved to its new offices at 11150 Gravelly Lake Drive S.W. after 50 years at its original Lakewood location. The 3,700-square-foot office, previously occupied by a real estate company, was redesigned and remodeled. Korsmo specializes in commercial and industrial construction projects ranging from $10,000 to $10 million.

Ellen Alexander has been hired by the Associated General Contractors of Washington as its director of Member Services and manager of the Business Development Group. Alexander will be responsible for recruiting new members and overseeing one of four internal work groups. Prior to joining the AGC, she served 18 years as president and co-owner of Structures, a general contractor. She also has served twice on the AGC's board of directors and is incoming president of the association's Education Foundation. Other moves at the AGC involve Doug Peterson, Dani Tijan and Stella Pilostomos. Peterson, director of Labor Relations, will cease running Member Services and focus on expanding the association's diversity/minority program. Tijan has been promoted to office manager and executive assistant. Pilostomos is the new receptionist.
McCarthy has promoted Bruce D. Holms to senior vice president of operations. Holms has 27 years of construction experience and has worked in McCarthy's Bellevue office for 12 years.
