Foushee & Associates

Bellevue-based general contractor Foushee & Associates has hired two project engineers and promoted an existing project engineer to project manager. The new project engineers include Aaron Cady and Peter Schroeder. Cady is a recent graduate of Washington State University and Schroeder holds a bachelor's degree in construction management from the University of Washington. Nigel Starr has been promoted to project manager and is working the company's tenant improvement department managing a variety of projects. He has been with Foushee for nearly two years.

Nuprecon

Nuprecon has hired Brian Pare as sales director and promoted Joe De Los Santos to director of project management. Both positions were created as part of an overall corporate expansion and restructure plan moving the company from a regional selective demolition specialist to a national firm with a full package of demolition-related services. Pare brings 15 years of sales experience, including construction information and publications. He is responsible for accounts in Washington and Oregon, and is leading the Nuprecon sales team. De Los Santos has been with Nuprecon four years, moving from project manager to chief estimator to senior project manager. In his new role, he is responsible for the Redmond division demolition project cycle from bid to closeout.

Lanoga

Effective Jan. 1, Paul W. Hylbert Jr. will become president and COE of Lanoga Corp. of Redmond. Hylbert is replacing Daryl D. Nagel, who will retire in March. Hylbert is currently president of PrimeSource, a building products manufacturer and distributor. Nagel will continue to serve on Lanoga's board of directors. Lanoga operates 193 lumber and building product stores in 18 states, including Lumbermen's Building Centers in the Northwest and Arizona.

HCI Steel Buildings

Arlington-based HCI Steel Buildings has hired Ken Pedersen as its district sales manager for Alberta and Saskatchewan, Canada. Pedersen has an extensive background in the industrial and commercial construction business. He will work from his Edmonton office. HCI makes buildings for commercial, industrial and institutional markets in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and the Pacific Rim.

Safety programs

The Evergreen Safety Council is offering a class in Seattle on injury/illness prevention and hazard communications. The course covers the mandatory elements of an accident prevention program as required by state regulations. It also covers the required elements of a hazard communications program for basic compliance with federal and state regulations regarding chemicals and substances in the workplace. Class will be held 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Cost is $165 for Safety Council members and $195 for non-members. For more information, contact the Safety Council at (800) 521-0778.

S.D. Deacon

Bellevue's S.D. Deacon recently made a couple of management changes. Chris Brown, formerly with Lugo Construction, has joined the company as operations manager, and Tim Rizzo, a CPA previously with Graham Contracting, has taken the position of accounting manager. Brown has over 20 years of varied construction and managerial experience. Rizzo has 10 years of accounting experience and a bachelor's degree in accounting from Central Washington University.

Remco Services

Remco Services of Bellevue has added Scott Jacky as an estimator and project manager and Don Lauren as a superintendent. Jacky formerly worked at ABKJ as a structural engineer. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Washington State University and is a licensed professional engineer in Washington and California. His new role includes heading up Remco’s estimating department for large building remediations. Lauren has 18 years of construction experience, most recently with Spee West Construction. He is working on the Ballard Manor project.
